Favourite magicians:

Derren Brown
Andy Nyman
Paul Daniels
David Copperfield
Penn&Teller
Lennart Green
Jay Sankey
Paul Zenon
Daryl
Peter Nardi
Tom Mullica

and lots more.

Conventions - not many. But the aforementioned FISM in Holland would be a great place to go. What made you bring that up... you thinking of going? Talk about start at the top!

FISM is a dream venue for magicians - is Wayne actually performing, or just going there???

Note to self: must go to FISM at some point in future.

Secondary note to self: must ask NSF how she learned to speak in abbreviations

Third note to self: must stop making notes to self - starting to exhibit signs of mental illness...

Seventh note to self: must ask NSF for maths lessons

When u say how did NSF learn to speak in abbreviations - do u mean stop it?! Or do u simply mean how???

Clarification:

No, don't stop talking in abbreviations. It was meant in a nice way - I've never seen N E 1 Tlk lk tht b4 with such fluency!

And secondly, (although it would have been funnier if you'd got it first time round), the maths lesson was a self-sarcastic quip about you doing well in maths, and my point '7' coming after point '3' - i.e. I can't count...

Sorry. Sometimes, my bizarre sense of humor is only funny to me... which kind of defeats the object slightly.

Note to self: stop trying to be funny and keep taking the pills.

And yes, I have MSN (well, it's an AIM hybrid, but works the same - I'm assuming you mean Instant Messenger???)

I rarely switch it on, but I will if you're wanting to try it...

im a magician????? far from it.. im just a guy who knows a few simple tricks and tell lies about all the difficult ones i cant do.. heh heh heh

ok i missed a lot of the postings cos of work so im gonna try and catch up

fave magicians.... everyone better than me!
this is actually quite a hard question for me cos i havent seen many, i think ive only seen paul daniels (on telly) , penn and teller(on telly) david blaine (ditto) paul zenon (telly) and derren brown (telly again funnily enough) and to be honest ive really enjoyed each for various reasons..

Paul Daniels.... cos of debbie magee.. heh heh oh and cos he was the first magician i ever saw and to be honest one of the best at what he does

Penn and Teller... cos they make me laugh

David Blaine... ok now before people start griping about him cos of the editing etc we have to ask "what is a magician?" answer- someone who entertains and mystifies... first time i saw david i was blown away, combination of deadpan face and seemingly "impossible" tricks (aces to queens is still one of my faves)

Paul Zenon.... cos of (to steal a quote) hes a mix of a mate down the pub, comedian and magician (or something like that)

Derren Brown.. simply cos he freaks me out.. ive never tried mentalism type stuff... to be honest im not clever enough but it always leaves me in awe (awwwwwww, no not awwwww, AWE!... ooooooOOOOOO)*clip from "george of the jungle" heh heh

However i will say that it was a mix of all the above who got me curious about what I could actually do and hence i ended up here *opens arms expansively and gazes round in wonder* and to be honest its opened my eyes to lot of things... some of it bad i.e. "is that all???" or "that would never fool anyone!!" but the majority of it good "noone is EVER gonna work this out!"

ok now im rambling and there hasnt been any pictures of half naked amazonian warrior princesses or sage old wizards with beards longer than one of seiges posts... heh heh

that reminds me.... seige the por*ahem* fantasy art is on this link
http://www.aumania.it/fantasyart.html once there check out the pages by"Dorian Cleavenger".. I'm not pervy(honest ) but the quality of art is awesome *jealous as hell!!*. and not forgetting "Boris Vallejo" who was probably the artist who got me started in the realm of art many moons ago..

Hey, who are YOU accusing of beard-length postings...

Thanks for the link... will probably take laptop somewhere quiet and secluded...

The artwork is brilliant - I'm also a lover of good artwork - especially the fantasy stuff. Great! Even tried to do it myself, once... (Yes, I did an Art with Art History A level!!!)

Keep the pics coming - they brighten the board up.

For some reason, not only are the posts 1 hour behind, but email notifications can be up to 3 hours after the event too.

Don't worry, Mog... it's nothing to do with the time delay up to the highlands!!!

Have you seen Alz's funkenring pics - he's modified it slightly and it looks like a Rambo-style flamethrower...

Notice how worried he looks, too. Then again, if I had a 12" flame shooting out of my hand, I think I'd be a bit panicky also. Maybe someone should advise him to take it off before using the toilet...

The time is probably an hour behind because you have it set to GMT in your profile and the site doesn't seem to support Britsh Summertime, change it to GMT+1 and all will be good.

never would have thought of changing it in my profile top be honest... hehe

Alz pics are awesome... i soooo want one of those... not for any magical type effect cos to be honest i dont think it would have any place in my stuff but i just think it would be funny... ok im an electrician by trade so it would be funny to grab some wire, go into body convulsions and set the ring off heh heh heh

wow - this thread seems to have developped a life all of it's own. :)

I just thought I'd mention, that having arrived back from Texas yesterday - All jet lagged and tired from too much drinking, partying, drinking, eating and drinking. I decided to go to the Wayne Dobson show(and his supporting act - TAGWTSV*).

And I must admit to having totally enjoyed the whole evening. It was really good to see Wayne Dobson performing again, although I must admit I was glad I wasn't sitting in the front rows - thanks for the heads up NSF. Btw, as you have been to so many of the shows - how often do you get called up on stage by either WD or JP?

WD was a credit to performing comic magic, and I certainly hope I picked up a few techniques in the art of showmanship.

Incredibly also :o (well incredibly to me) Joe 'TAGWTSV' P.was also pretty entertaining - maybe I was just drunk or jet lagged - but I found some of his stuff pretty amusing. (what's 18inches long and speaks french :D    ). I had never seen him perform before - so didn't realise so much of his stuff is so very Tommy Cooper. Don't get me wrong - he has a great style of his own, but I would bet that he was heavily influenced by the great Mr. C.

Well now I am the complete opposite. I would love to go up on that stage! Wayne gets the men up, Joe gets the lady up. (excuse me the hot sexy mama!) He is so funny.
I have never yet though been called up on stage. Maybe one day eh. My Mum was called up though, infront of 2500 people! It was great. She didn't get a painting though coz it was a different show at Butlins.

Wayne is great isn't he. That's y I started off this topic subject. He is fab. I especially love the bit wiv the voices - don't u? Well, the poeple who have seen it! Oh, and I love the re-make of 'An officer and a gentleman'! That was funny.

Just 1 last thing....bananafish.....Joe and Ray together...arn't they mad. Them 2 2gether r great. Ray is so funny. I can't wait 4 the next show to see the 'TNAGWTSV*'!

ttfn

    8) 8) 8) 8) 8) :D :D :D :D :D :P :P :P :P
