Hey Uncle Marv
There's no need to go around warning people about Jerry. He has a habit of doing it for himself by posting to web fora using pseudonyms.

The Cumbernauld Theatre maybe isn't the best place in the world, but its good for a small theatre (I did a couple of shows in the large auditorium when I was 8 or 9 )

It was not the Cumbernauld Theatre. It was the Queen's Hall, a venue in Edinburgh.

He spoke in a strong accent. Well, do you expect everybody to speak with the exact same accent as you? I found this comment quite strange and annoying, as you are trying to say he was bad because of his accent :?

I have nothing against accents. It is just I understood Jerry Sadowitz was a Londoner, but he was definitely talking in a Glaswegian accent.

Jerry lives in London but is from Scotland, probably Glasgow.

I'm sure I remember reading that he was born in London, but these days he shares a flat in Edinburgh with Paul Wilson. He goes to London a lot, but he doesn't live there. He tends to stay with Paul Gordon when he has business there.
He's definitely English though. It says so here.

Odd, the first link was canadian, Just for Laughs Festival Link, and says he is English. Despite our close links with Canada, I think some will still assume that anyone from the UK is English. The second link was hidden (as a full stop) and is the wikipedia entry. This is probably more informative.

Just checked Wikipedia.
Apparently he was born in New Jersey, USA!
But brought up in Glasgow.

No English blood in him!

Saxmad: Check out the full-stop link! And the claim he is English is not the least accurate statement in that post. I'm messing about, but then Uncle Marvin started it.

Hi all... went to see Jerry for the second time @ the Soho this week ~ amazing show!!

Just a few things after reading comments here.

Jerry is well known for being offensive ~ I simply refuse to believe that anyone could go to a show of his and expect, well as the guy put it, David Nixon.

At the show I saw a couple of years ago he did jokes about the Tsunami ~ this time he did jokes about (and it was odds on he would) the Ipswich murderer. His trashing of Russell Brand was brilliant.

As for his magic ~ it is of course wonderful. A lot the same as I have seen him do before before but some new. I knew the Grapefruit trick from my first time of visiting and so I kept my eyes on him ~ I was still stunned when he did produce the grapefruit.

I thought it was widely known he was born in USA to a Scottish mum who, after divorce, brought him to Scotland at a young age. So, what do you expect a Glaswegian to sound like? He also has Jewish blood and mentioned at the show that he lived in Camden, North London.

I sincerely hope he is at the Soho next year as well.

M

He is certainly Scottish. Even if he is American Scottish. I met him once. An oddball as many magicians are. As far as his performing abilities go I saw him on TV a few times. It was all comedy you would not want your maiden aunt to see and perhaps 5 minutes of card magic.

An small island of beautiful card magic in a sea of filth. Give me David Nixon any time.

This young man has been struggling for years and has to work in a magic shop to eke out a meagre living. Methinks it is time for him to re-evaluate his showbusiness persona and consider a more conservative approach. Money talks. And it is not saying much to him at the moment.
