Personaly I like him, I agree that some of his tricks you can tell that it is fake but SO!!!!. At the end of the day his got rich for doing something he loves so in that sense i respect him. And i dont agree with the whole David Blaines better c*** (not the best) beause Criss Angels show is different, his show is basically a show with a bit of street magic and then a finale trick with build ups to the big finale in the program where as David Blaines show is all about street magic so you cant really compare the only thing you could compare on would be the street magic it self and with that theres no diffrence what so ever there both excellent. Both of there shows are out there for the ordinary person and my girl friends ordinary (hahaha) and she loves it. thanks.....

I don´t think Demitri is a fan of Criss Angel. I think he´s his BROTHER.

I would defend my brother in the same manner!

Good for you!!!

Salute.

What he is doing isn't particulaly new. It is his performance and style that is knew and i like it. Ok, some of the time he seems almost a wannbe Blaine, but why not? Blaine brought street magic to the masses and is certainly unique and modern.
I also respect Angel for what he has done for our art, and in the States has made a big impact. My only wory is that it will eventually go too far, interest too many people and ruin what we do in our small society; one of the reasons i am constantly trying to come up with new effects and whatnot, to be one step ahead when all of our current tricks are worked out and secrets revelaed.
Until then though, i respect him and enjoy all of his shows. Good on him.

Personally, I think that David got magic re-instated, but Criss took it to a whole new level. Sure, some of his persona is difficult not to laugh at, but if you think about the laypeople, they suck it in like a milkshake (those of them that aren't lactose intolerant, that is!).
For me, I like Criss Angel. He has made magic, magic again, even though he credits it to mind, body and spirit working together. if you have ever been on his website, for those who think that he is 'scamming himself to stardom', you'll find that he says in reply to fans, that what he does MOSTLY is illusion.
In the end, David has vanished from the spotlight, to be replaced by a new breed of magician - Criss Angel.
Just my two cents,
-C

In many ways the mind, body and spirit presentation is used by many of us to different degress and in slightly different ways. Yes it's an angle but it appears to work from what I've seen of Angel so far.

I too agree that he's technically better than Blane but it's a different magician at a different time with new technologies etc. than ten years or so ago.

What I like about Angel is that in many ways, he's brought stage magic out onto the street.

Not a fan of him personally, but respect to him for getting people interested in magic again.

Same can be said for David Blaine however, although I think Criss's style of trying to mix street magic with stage magic is kinda pretentious and annoying.
But that's not really in discussion here is it...

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism
