Has Kioku been reviewed anywhere on the forum? Nothing comes up (other than this thread) if I search.

I don't think it has Blake old bean, but as I am already incredibly tempted to buy it, please at least wait for me to get some cash before you review it!

Kioku is awesome! It's fantastic! Umm...actually that's my effect, so umm, disregard this post, I'm a little biased.

You could do a search on that big green forum over here. There's some skinny on it.

HOMICIDE IS ON ITS WAY TO THE U.K. !!! The planes should be landing right about now.

The last of the pre-orders went out and the new orders are already shipping.

When you get your book get on the product forum! Lots of subtleties and tips.

All things being equal, I should be getting Kioku along with my copy of Homicide and if so, I'll review Kioku as well.

Excellent. My knees desert me in their excitement.

Looking at Kioku, the indications are that it's that thing - you know, *that* *thing* - with simply some physical bits and bobs provided for focus and colour. Now, while that thing is indeed a lovely thing, I'm fully aware of that thing and - though Half-Headed Roth does seem perfectly delightful and I wish him all the sparkling best - I shouldn't really shell out £11 so I can stand in my hallway not long from now, gazing down at an newly-opened jiffy bag and saying, 'Oh, it's that thing.'

If it's not that thing, however, I'm baffled, slavering and would gladly pay £11 and lick Half-Headed Roth all over to get hold of it.

Kioku is four black backed laminated cards, They are a little bigger than a business card and 7 pages of instructions. That's it.

That's one of the aspects that makes me assume it's 'that thing': the method doesn't require special 'equipment' (though I can see how the cards would be useful, and also create a nice frame). As I mentioned, the method, if it is that one, is highly pleasing. It's simply that it's one that I'm already quite familair with.

I'll await TL's review, in the hope that it provokes an, 'Ahhh.'

There are 3 different methodologies (Don't you love that word? Sounds so adult.) that are combined together in this little effect.

Got Homicide and it is stunning! The prop is superbly well made and and the mechanics seem solid. Can't wait to try it.

However, I ordered Kioku at the same time and I am consequently less than pleased. The effect might be great BUT YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE BLOODY USA TO USE THESE CARDS!!!!

I can only wonder at the kind of person who would fail to include that information on their website before people wasted their money and ordered the effect to the UK. As it goes, I'm just going to remake the effect for my own use from UK friendly stock, and then chuck the cards in the bin as they are of no use whatsoever.

Best,

Nathan

I raised the issue of Kioku with the folks at Outlaw both directly and on another site and suggested a more international version to make it more user-firendly outside of the US. It was clear that others had done the same, but all has gone very quiet since. Possibly the pressure was on with the release of Homicide, so perhaps now it may get some attention. I have made up a business card version, but would prefer to use the originals.

Crikey!! (is that how you spell it) Glad you like Homicide!!!
I'm making Kioku U.K. I will replace your set happily.

Apparently you guys don't go to Las Vegas! How 'bout Monaco?

You don't go to baseball games either. Dang. I'm changing that to football.

If you recieved Kioku from me, PM me and I will replace them with Kioku U.K. at no cost of course.

I seem to recall a trick called B.I.P. that all us yanks bought over here.
What the heck is a "sterling"? And there was another word that just did'nt seem to be a part of the american lexicon either! How dare that bad man Mr. Nardi not tell us!
(Hey Peter, you should be getting your copy of Homicide any day now.)

So now we're even! Yeah, that's it, we're even. :D

Mine still has not arrived, sort of twitching by the door waiting for the postman. Must get a life. It would be helpful if UK Kioku gets listed as an option on the website. I was about to buy it along with Sanctum. Now I will wait until further notice. Hopefully, the postman will deliver today!
