I have bizarrly (spelling!) not contributed to this thread....

....Minger...as far as I believe refers to a girl or lady who is as attractive as bull licking p*ss off a nettle..

...minging... on the other hand has a few meanings. It could mean smelly, or just plain horrible e.g. minging weather

Everyone at my school uses minging to mean something disgusting, horrible etc
We use minger to mean anyone who is or has just done something minging.
I've heard a new one-'mingy'. This apparantly means something or someone that's not quite minging. Personally I think a first year misheard someone.

In Brummie 'Mingy' means mean or tightfisted. 'He's right mingy' would refer to someone with short arms and deep pockets. It's synonymous with 'stingy'. Just thought I'd throw that in for fun!

Does 'scrubber' mean something different in Skipton that Stenhousemuir. Here it basically means the same as, hmmm...how can I put this. Ah, a girl who tends to sleep around with lots of boys. This does not mean the same as minger, well, it might depend on the boy. If you want proof, come to my school and call a girl a scrubber. Then instead of 'Magic Mark' it'll be 'Mangled Mark'
Anyway, can anyone remeber without looking at the previous page what this post was origionaly about?

I think the meaning of scrubber is pretty universal! There's even a ladies' haircut called the scrubber cut if I remember right. Not recommended for making friends and impressing people. The word, not the haircut.
