he couldn't just refuse to pay. With as much money as he had he'd be sued over it

I dunno I still don't get why people don't like Blaine. I think hes an interesting character. And when I got his book from the library I was really pleased to see that instead of an auto-biography it was pretty much a magic history/tip book. It was pretty good.

I just wonder if he's one of those people that it's 'fashionable to dislike' and the majority who don't like him, don't really know that much about him.

that's true because most people I meet that dont like him just think of him as a moron because he does stunts. Lots of people aren't even aware he is a magician.

One of the reasons I love BLaine is because I had such a similar experience growing up! I love the rags to riches stories because lol I am still in rags but want riches one day! I truly believe it is possible. It is always inspiring to me to find someone in a profession that I admire that comes from my kind of background. And David Blaine is a great street magician! His stunts are just tests to see how far he can go. I love this extremist side of his personality because I am just the same way!

Personally, I don't particularly like the personality that he portrays to his public via the media. Hopefully he's different when not at work (I'm sure he is).

I suspect that the personality that he portrays is designed to create this type of debate and a particular level of mystacism. In this he succeeds!

I think that he is a particularly skilled magician based on what I'se seen on TV and have read about, although the tricks that he performs are not often not original.

Anyone that takes a path from the bottom to the top of their profession deserved some respect for that achevement alone. I'm a personal believer that you get nothing out unless you put something in.

i cant believe this many people are slamming david blaine like this. u cannot deny his talent and what we can learn from him. i have learned so many tricks and ideas from watching him. the faces or magic nowadays are david blaine and criss angel. i would rather have magic associated with someone who performs in your face tricks, the same ones i perform, rather than someone who is all rigged up and has paid bystanders. yes maybe the stunts can get a little boring but he isnt performing magic at these times, he is performing a STUNT. just like when the motocross rider does a backflip on a bike, david blaine submerses himself in water for a week..........ITS A STUNT.some of u may not like him but u would never dare challenge the man, no one would, he is just that damn good. to anyone who knows a thing about magic (which i hope everyone on this forum does) wouldnt u rather see someone tear and restore a card than walk up the side of a building. we all know how both are done but only one can be performed to an uninformed audience
