I can highly recommend anything by Keith Hart. Go to www.blackhart.co.uk (look for my name amongst the happy customers) check out my review http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic9230.php&highlight= .I have several products from him and i am getting more soon. Also try the web, nice and cheap and most dealers have it.

Real Danger (Aldo Columbini), Needle Through Arm (Harry Anderson), The Web (Jim Pace), The Animal Trap (Abbotts), Bullet Catch (close-up version), Hyrum The Haunted Hank (with a production of small skull at the end or something)...............

Nope, I found the site on another another forum a week or two ago, I really like the look of their stuff though... However one item I found that they're selling I found cheaper elsewhere...

What are you thinking about? (you can pm me if it's secret)

Is the show for kids or adults? I always like simple card through are and knife through arm, simple but if the show is for kids I am thinking they might like that sort of thing.

Do you want fake blood type tricks?

Got the blood sorted thanks. I have had a knife thru arm for years. Just got an ideal for a small scale show that i plan to build up over the next 3-4 years.

Good idea about building it up over the next few years. I asked about the blod because I was given a rather good way of making your own. If you have that part sorted, excellent and good luck with the show.

Lots and lots of "advice" advice and next to none of it practical or to the point. (Sorry guys)

Firstly, you ask a very broad question within defining the direction you are heading, the setting of your program, etc. Is this for stage or close-up or as part of a haunted attraction? Do you want strictly macabre material or are you out to frighten your audience in general?

What's you're budget?

For $5,000.00 I'll sell the rights to my Buzz Saw routine... of course, you'll still need to drop another $30,000.00 or so to build it,but you'll have one of the coolest, most dramatic Buzz Saw routines that ever existed. Then again, for the same money I'd gladly sell my old Suicide Illusion (in which I seemingly blow my brains out)

Now, let's get realistic... start here http://www.deceptionsunlimited.com/menu1.html I know the site is being revamped and I fear Rick is removing the Virtual Walk-Thru of THE CHAMBER if not, check it out. Regardless, you want Rick's BOOK OF HAUNTED MAGICK and I believe he has a video there on Seance work and house hauntings as well.

I have a bunch of things running through my mind in that Macabre styled magic was my forte for many years (I just evolved away from the larger stage effects towards pure mentalism with time). But I've also learned that frightening people does not require blood & gore and grossing them out can simply be a subtle matter of using words along side aroma. In other words, sometimes its better to actually be clever in how you "haunt" your guests rather than being cheap and direct as many of the aforementioned suggestions would be.

Think it through and define where you want to go with this.

Hi graig, russellmagic needs the most help, if you have time i have this little plan. It is a cabaret horror style show. Looking for effects for an audience size of between 30 and 150. Have some props and effects, just looking for some nice pieces and horrific props to theme the area. I don't need huge things. As i don't intend to start until October the budget will increase.

The shows:

1. Cabaret horror 2. Close-up to scare (i have some Black Hart and need some more ideas).

Look around, one of the more novel and fun gags I used in clubs for a while was on old Thayer prop known as the Arm Amputator... it's a 10" Buzz Saw that cuts through a specator's arm. I had two of them at one time, one with blood squirters and the other I modified for a comedy gag you might appreciate...

We did a thing about Hypnosis and then demonstrated the classic Chemistry bit of dipping a rose into Liquid Nitrogen and of course, shattering the rose. We followed this with proof that blisters could be formed on our victim's arm by making them believe a pencil eraser was a red hot ember, etc.

Then we dumped the "liquid nitrogen" over the arm, telling our helper that it was only warm water... long story short, as I sat the beaker of nitrogen to the side, I accidently bumped the table onto which our victim's arm was strapped ... yes, the center section of the arm snapped free, rolled off the table and shattered all over the stage floor.

The table used is very clever and you really can use anyone from teh audience. You can even have people holding onto the hand and bicep areas so as to prove everything is in fact "real".

I would likewise recommend looking into a Spirit Cabinet or "Seance" styled demonstration. Given the feel I get from your description I'd recommend looking over Docc Hilford's BAND OF THE HAND notes... I know Blackhart has some great Jack the Ripper stuff and what Docc reveals in this booklet may just give you a more solid sense of foundation.

Hope these thoughts get your creativity to flowing
