How to stop your own pulse?

Postby allanmagicdavis » May 25th, '06, 18:07

Does anyone know or how to learn to stop your own pulse? A lot of magicians have done this effect. I saw Derren Brown do it in theatre and ive just seen Wayne Houchin do it. Was wondering if it is hard to do?

it takes years and years to do. First you have to start off with training yourself while running. You have to do 2 hour solid runs a day for 2 weeks to get up your fitness (otherwise you could die with no pulse - ever wondered whyderren brown looks in tip top shape? ;))

following this you do a 1 hour run twice a day while controlling your breathing. the slower yo breathe the slower you heart goes. once you have learnt this, you muist revolve around on the spot five times saying "I must not ask for magical secrets on talk magic and am truly sorry for this and shall never do it again"

after this, you must purachse a trick in whoch your pulse does stop, and you shall be granted a wonderful device that is used to stop your pulse - known as "knowledge"!

;)

I actually made my mum scream and shout at me when i did this trick, she started saying how she doesn't want me to use mentalism effects on her again! It is a great effect and i have done this on friends and they all have been very scared. Wayne houchin performed this i believe in one of his videos on his site to some girls.

It's alot better when you perform it the way that you pulse slows down and then stops.

You have to increase your pulse first.

To learn this, do a parachute jump from a plane.

The adrenalin rush you get as you skydive will make your pulse rocket.

To learn how to make your pulse stop, do the above, but without a parachute.

There isn't a 100% chance that this will work.

The only drawback with this method is, if it works, you wont be around to find out!

What?! I do in combo with a watch stop and it freaks people right out. Especially if you get a nurse to take your pulse.

The pulse stop is my favourite magic effect and although it falls into the bizarre category, it is by no means a weak or geeky effect

As for pulse stopping methods, Ormond McGill's method is bloody marvellous, however if you are worried about the health implications of using a gimmick to physically achieve the effect then i recommend using a suggestion based routine as Luke Jermay does (7 Deceptions book, Skullduggery DVD) as it has the same impact and will then allow you to STOP OTHER PEOPLES PULSES!!!

Hope the helps
