At the end of the day, does it really matter?

And is chemical phenomenon of life and the intricate process of evolution any less miraculous than the literal interpretation of creationism?

I'm going for creation. I just think it's all a bit too organised to have happened by chance.

why don't you give us your opinion first ey mikey?

or i could start ranting about set theory and infinite unbounded n space, and claim time really actually began therefor god didn't have the time to make time. and time is a load of rubbish anyway when you look at it. goddam entropy.

anyway, are you implying that evolution implies a lack of creation? I'm sure even darwin would say that something had to be created at some point, in fact, lots of things have to be created in sequence for evolution to hold anyway. plus evolution is a fact, so i'll go with evolution.
the idea that we just "popped" into existance one day doesn't quite fit in my mathematicians head, where would all the other mass go? what would adam and eve have replaced when they came into being?

99.85% of relevant scientists support evolution.
Most religious organisationswhich have expressed a view support evolution.
10,000+ Christian Pastors in America alone support evolution.

NO Mainstream Colleges or Universities teach Creationism.
NO well-known scientists, and certainly NO Nobel Prize winners, support Creationism.
The Creationists have won NO court cases since Scopes (1925), and got a severe kicking in Kitzmiller v. Dover (2005).
Kent Hovind (aka Dr Dino), probably the most famous Creationist in the world, has just started a 10 year jail sentence for tax reasons. It was revealed that Hovind banked $1,000,000 a year from his Creationist "Ministry".
The "Creation Scientists" have published NO technical, peer-reviewed papers (which is how science progresses). They also have yet to come up with a Creationist Model.

In other words - forget it!
Creationism comes from the same stable as Flat-Earth thinking.

In the trade it's referred to as "Lying for Jesus".

And in case anyone thinks I'm biased, I'm a Christian.

Why would any sane individuals put this kind of question up in this sort of forum?

Even Darwin intimated that Evolution is "how" God made it all happen... if we go with Creationism, which myth do we follow? Genesis alone has two completely different stories (which most people never catch onto)... ironically, it mirrors the much older creation tales credited to Shiva in the Indus Valley... or do we need to look at the Native American idea of creation?

It's horse puckey!

I'm not slamming people's faith just the fact that we have too many variables when it comes to the idea of Creationism vs. logic and known "facts" as science keeps confirming.

Creation... simplybeing even if evolution was how it came about.. whoe created the atoms or whatever to cause this.. everything you trace it back to has to have come from somewhere.. Lifeis just too complex to all have come about by chance..

But then.. we are pretty damn insignificant in this universe to make such bold claims whichever side we support.

We are nothing in the grand scheme of things.. Who can categorically state that we are the only intelligent life form out there..

We should just accept that we are here and be grateful to whoever caused all this!!

Yes it does!
A lot of medical discoveries depend on Evolution being the correct theory.

I was thinking same :?

For something to evolve, it has to evolve from something - probably from something that was created by some omnipotent being (let's not open up another can of worms by asking how this omnipotent being came to be  )

So my twopenneth is that everything was initially created (by whom or what is another topic for discussion :!: ) and then evolution took its course

Ta da

If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Surely the fact that this has become a 'poll' invites lack of confidence in either theory?

Heck, I'll be dead within 50 years (if I'm lucky).

Do I care?

Nope. All I care about is lying low and carpe diem.

Is that too much to ask?

Every day is a new tomorrow. Science rules, theory is science waiting to happen.

Don't stress over it, it's too late.

The question is badly worded.
Is should be CreationISM or Evolution.
Both competing theories as to how the variety of life on earth came about.

My concern is that the Creos want to have their nonsense taught in schools instead of real science.
How do you fancy having someone else's religion stuffed down your kids' throats?
