Just to nudge this thread back into life, series Four in 2008 (apparently with the return of Davros) then three specials in 2009 but no series Five until 2010. They seem to know all about how to sustain and magnify intrest - very clever indeed..... 8)

I'm not a fan of her 'comedy' stuff although the 'am I bovvered' phrase seems to have caught on very well indeed! She wasn't too bad as Donna, bearing in mind the character was supposed to be shallow, self centered and totally blinded by 'love' so I'll give it a try and see how things go.....

I really hope that Davros will not be used again in any further series of Doctor Who. He should have been left to rest as it were, after "Genesis of the Daleks". In my opinion, no-one could replace Michael Wisher, and it was a mistake to re-incarnate him in the 80s. Please don't bring him back!!

Apparently, series 5 has been delayed until 2010 so that David Tennant can do a season with The Royal Shakespeare Company.

At least he's sticking with the character unlike that Eccleston fellow!

Not entirely true, Mr. Pud!

In 2009, there will be three Doctor Who specials - it's not been announced what format they will follow, but there's some speculation that they'll be 60-90 minute tele movies, all broadcast in bank-holiday periods.

David T will be reprising his role as the Doctor in all three, and there's likely to be another Christmas special in 2009, followed by the 13-episode format being re-instated in 2010.

2010?

Even Eastenders doesn't get commissioned more than a year in advance!!

On another Who-related note; those of you who are parents of the 5-12 year age-range can't have failed to have noticed the proliferation of new Doctor Who Toys, since the new series began....

...Well, it seems that Who is now such a popular brand, that Character Options (the company behind the new series toys and figures) has decided to start a 'classic series' range of figures too....

...Why, oh, why am I 37, and not 12?

Ah... thank you for the clarification.

Erm I was doing a search for impressionist pads & found this thread.

SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!

Ahh ahh ahh well yes & no. I agree that Davvie was never as good in the series as he was in Genesis but Terry Molloy (who played the Dav 3 times in the 80s) has been superb in the Big Finish Dr Who audios and as Russell The T is a Big Finish fan it wouldn't surprise me if this years re-working is nabbed from B.F again & if so we'll get a return to form TV Davros.

Bummer about the 2009 specials just hope there 90 minute ones & not standard 60 minute specials. I also hope these are 3 specials plus the now standard Xmas special...

Still, later on this month, we have Sarah Jane back in her little show, which to date was 10 times better than Torchwood. Starts off with a Slitheen 2 parter & despite her age I still fancy her...

Er right I'm off to find a decent impressionists/peek pad...

P.S. BBC7 repeats the Paul (8th Dr) McGann Big Finish series, which really is rather good stuff. Monday September 10th at 6pm with Shada, and continues every weeknight thereafter.

Plus we don't know if the 3 specials are to allow DT time off or whether he's taking other work as he has this time off?

Well, well well! Today's news is that not only will Freema/Martha be returning to join Catherine Tate/Donna and David Tennant, so will Billie Piper as Rose - the official wording is:
Following a series of unconfirmed reports across the media this morning, we're delighted to officially confirm that Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler in Series Four of Doctor Who.

So today's news is that when David Tennant 'retires' the new Dcotor will be played by....Jennifer Saunders!

In the meantime, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQEmGC6VK8k for a cruel but accurate seasonal rendition of the Doctors...
