What do you think the best card force is?

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

I use the Hindu and Riffle forces quite often, although they are not necessarily the best forces. It depends on the circumstances and the effect.

I think the best card force is the slip force as the spectator thinks he is stopping anywhere he wants.

surely all forces should make the spec think they have a free choice, otherwise what's the point

Personally i think the best force is the slip force as the spectator thinks he is stopping anywhere but what he dosn't know is that the magician is actually forcing him to take that card.

Yes but, as Schwen said, surely that reasoning applies to ANY force?

My favourite is the Classic Force. I learned it young and over the years you just get more attuned to the subtleties of timing and controlling the pickee (person who picks). Last year I bought 'Pass With Care' which adds a few more ideas, an interesting force and satisfying to pull off well.

Yours forcefully,
Keith

I love the force ( sorry to say, I don't know what the original name of it is  ) where you spread the cards out for the spectator to choose one, and with practice, you can get him to choose the right card. A bit risky if you don't practice, but it can be worked to near perfection. :D

I try to swap and change the force I use so there's less chance of a spec cottoning on.

The one's I use most often are the Slip Cut, Hindu and Cross Cut forces

force's for courses

Postby spudgun » Aug 23rd, '07, 00:06

i think the over hand shuffle force is great cause it feels really random....but i mix it up with the cut deeper force and the rifle force.........id love to get the classic force down but im not sure how to practice it very well....and dont want caught.......if i think im getting away with murder doing top changes etc i sometimes am naughty and use a back slip force (but i certainly dont make a habit of it....lol) i just love the blatancy of it and its good practice :D

Try 'The Classic Force' DVD by Paul Green. http://magiccave.co.uk/inside/classic-force-paul-green-p-2898.html

Quite a good grounding in the Classic Force and some useful subtleties and 'outs' explained. Probably nothing new or all that comprehensive for those more experienced at this force but worth having if you're a beginner/intermediate.

Of course, when I referred in my post above to the 'Pass with Care' DVD, I actually meant to refer to this one... that's me engaging my typing fingers before my brain as usual!

I never really noticed the cards. "Something else" distracted me.
