Who reads the Guardian any way? Lefties thats who. I would like to ventrue the only reason why it sold more copies today is because every magician in the country has gone out to buy it.

Guardian readers are to busy telling me not to fly around the world while they go on pilgramage to india.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Just got the gaurdian 1 there and they've blantanly stole alot of RRTCM ETCM and bobo's. Thats not what bugs me tho. I dont mind that tho. Its peoples eyes being opened to D/Ls and other stuff.
Because if they realise that can happen there goes most of my stuff. cos I love the DL.
Well ok not really.
In bobo's he goes on about people not comprehendeding the possibiliy of C****** P***. Well down the drain with that eh?

On a positive note II dont think it will effect us. The majority will not go to the hard work.

Its funny Derren wrote a book released to the masses with tricks in, no one complains.

Bloody Lefties honestly they will be too busy trying to fit solar pannels and trying to free some Murdering type because its against his human rights to be in the slammer.

People know about the cp anyway, remember that magic knowledge amongst the general population has come a long way since Bobo. Doesn't mean you can't use it though. Same with a DL, imagine that you insert a card with Tilt then do a DL to show it's come to the top. Seeing as you put the card in the middle in the first place there's no way turning over two cards could be the solution is there?

Any move only becomes suspect when you either do it badly enough that it looks like 'something' happened, or it's the obvious solution. I'm a bit annoyed about the Gadabouts, but seeing as the version I do is a bit more technical than stuff that will be in the Guardian (use of retention and a click pass for example) and has a jumbo ending there's nothing to fear.

Yes, but Derren Brown didn't distrubute that book for free to a massive circulation who hadn't asked for it, did he?
I don't think this is about general publication of effects- noone would ever get into magic if it wasn't for this- it's the 'free to absolutely anyone whether they want it or not' aspect that I find problematic, for the reasons given on the previous page.

To be honest, I expect most people will toss the book aside and never even flick through it, let alone read it. Our craft is safe. For now.

Looking through the children's stuff, it appears they've stolen stuff from Peter Eldin too, but this time without credit on the front

Oh yes, the Guardian will protect the rights of some Islamic extremist who wants to blow us all to kingdom come whilst getting a free 4WD and six bedroom house at our expense, but the rights of the hard-working, humble, honest magician? They care not one bit!

Bloody communists.

Why don't you just go and marry jeremy clarkson eh?! :)

don't worry about the book - if they have ripped something out of RRTCM, then they've broken a copyright and can be done for it...

possibly by being told a joke by cannon and ball, or jim davidson...

if you feel very strongly about it, write to the publishers of RRTCM?

Lord Freddie writes: "It's awfully hard being rich and well-educated. The poor little oi polloi get sooooo jealous. Pass the caviar Jeeves....."

Well-educated? I doubt it!
At least not in a Greek-based education.

'Oi polloi' means 'the people' so the first 'the' is pleonastic (or 'redundant' for you unfortunate Latin-based folk.<G>)

yep, read this today as a lady at work bought it in for me. It has exerts from bobo and rrtcm. Thing is it shows simple beginner tricks but also shows t and b controls along with peeks, palms and f. shuffles. This is done and then either no trick is shown which uses these or a very simple trick that does not need to use these is shown. The exerts seam to be word for word. The exposure is not neccesary. Its a guadian writer being pompus for the pompus gardian readers to drop a few names and bit of false smug knowlage into any conversation they may have with a magician at a wedding.

When I am rich and smug I too will start reading the guardian.
