Let me be the first to say:

I thought that show was awesome

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Have to agree with Ecko - lovely show!

I think a lot of the disappointment stems from peoples expectations of it being a more stunty-orientated show as the last series was not coalescing with the more person-orientated show it has become this series.

That said, I can't help but feel that it was a shame how little was done with the David Tennant/time travel premise.

I expected more cringe worthy viewing from the radio times description, but was quite a good display in favor of positive thinking.

I thought that last night's show was the best in the series so far.

The Friday night ones are opposite QI, so I have to watch the Thursday repeats. My husband is not going to give up QI just so I can watch some magic show. (And I enjoy it too.)

NB for those in the same position: This coming Thursday's repeat is rather later than normal. Check your listings!

The newspaper preview of the time travel episode made me expect something much weirder and more disorientating -- e.g. making the "victim" actually believe he had travelled to the past or future. Having said that, what did happen was still pretty dem'd jaw-dropping.

Last week's kidnap/escapology episode was watchable but disappointing. Reminiscent of programmes like In at the Deep End, where someone is given a crash course in something and then has to do it.

The escapology episode was also awfully similar in theme to the first (pub quiz) episode: the "victim" is taught special techniques that enable him/her to accomplish a particular stunt. Nothing magical or mystical.

Robbie, you can also catch up with Channel 4 shows by using a programme called 4oD which is on channel4.com - it's really easy to use and pretty cool, it lets you watch shows you missed on your computer. I use it all the time. The BBC also has a very similar thing, but even snazzier than the Channel 4 one because you don't even have to download anything with the BBC - just watch any show right on their website.

:D Loved last nights final episode. I got the feeling David Tennant was having a good time, maybe knew hwat was going on and just liked to hop around on his space hopper  and why not.
My...Id like to see him do that naked!!

Last nights finale was the best in the series by a long way and I thought that Derren was back to his old self.

The lottery prediction in the middle was stunning whilst the psychology of the random test on which the show was based was a fascinating insight into how most people think and then act.

I'd have just loved to have seen their reaction when they realised that their actions were being controlled by a pair of goldfish.

I'll be watching the repeat in the week.

It made me think alot about how I am in my life...when things have gone wrong and bad things/tragic things sometimes have happened, ive done similar things, not stepping on a crack in the pavement, avioding ladders etc.
In a way its as if youre in control of the situation. It makes you feel better thinking you are. When of course youre not in control at all.
Sophie.

This was one of the best shows of Derren's EVER.

It was clever, funny and, as always, highly entertaining.

The dart one threw me - HOW???

I liked the latest show, good finish. Amusing little end with the fake "Dedicated too".
