there was no-one else worth while in the auditions we saw on tv. all very dated magic is seems magic has failed to move on since the days when paul daniels was the coolest man in britain. he also single handed lead it to its death.

We need a new illusionist to take the stage next year with a slick upbeat and entertaining show.

Give the judges what they want they surely have some sort of idea of what britains wants and we need to give them what they want. magic in this show have been terrible and i am sure there is loads of talent out there.

would anyone audition or is the prospect to scary ?

Old magic can still wow and leave the audience with their mouths wide open if performed correctly. It's not the age of the magic, it's the presentation.

Another act out the window, even tho i must admit they were not that bad just the singing is not great. also the goon box type illusion did not really work what was it about ?.

you could also see some of the dresses being taken under the cloth

cups and balls has been around for at least hundreds of years. yet there have been numerous people who made this great (like paul daniels). like telling jokes its 'the way you do 'em'.

have to say that quick change routine was very entertaining :)

still hardly an illusion to win back a lost audience of millions
i don't see hans klok or david c doing BIG budget specials on NBC with cups and balls.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

no but then they dont have to. point is weve seen thousands of things disappear, so d.c. does it with the statue of liberty.

... he'd probably do it with giant clear glass cups with elephants for balls
fact is a great magician can find a new angle or presentation for any old classic to amaze people. the effect isnt everything.

yes i agree cups and balls with a great presentation can be impressive in a small theater with a dedicated audience who want to see it that maybe, but a variety audience on prime time TV with 12 million people watching ?.

i am so sad for visage they seem really nice.

well that was just an example. im not saying it has to be cups and balls
fact is its an example of how an old classic can be done any way the performer wants. all the classics have been changed - sawing the lady in half becomes sawing the magican with a table saw, and so on.

just needs something to make it appear different. this game is about how things appear after all :)

I thought visage were the best of the lot and the routine is very good. I have to agree with comments by the judges on the singing though. It's not that great when you compare it directly (and they will be) with the guys and girls who are just there to sing and nothing else.

I'd pay to see these guys live

I thouht Visage were great, the singing wasn't great but afterall that wasn't their act. The judges were very unfair and there really was no need for the 3 buzzers. There's been much worse that haven't been half as badly treated.

I wasn't much for visage either to be honest. Firstly, if singing is part/half of their act (they kept it in because that was a major part of their act), then the judges were quite right to buzz them out if the singing was bad. If they wanted to be judged on the quick change routine, then leave the singing out. After the initial commesnt, why they decided to keep it in is beyond me. What did they expect?
Also if you compare them to the act that was on the USA version (and are in magicseen this month, but their name escapes me), then the different in speed of change and class is apparent. The USA duo's did look somewhat 'magical' and the changes were smoth. With vizage, they just covered themselves, and tugged around a bit (pretty much giving the game away at one point) like they were getting their trunks on at the beach whilst someone holds up the towel.
