As the prize is a place in the royal variety performance I can't see magicians having much of a chance. It strikes me as something like that probably already has good professional magicians on the line-up who don't need to compete for a place. It had Raymond Crowe last year and there is usually one some where on the bill.

the point is finding someone who is not pro if possible and give people who would normally not have a chance like this to do the show.

There are no british magicians or illusionists on tv or doing amazing shows in the uk right now dave berry was the closest we got this christmas.

arounds there world there are loads of magic shows touring on tv specials but here in the uk its all dead i wonder why ?

When I watched the Dave the Duck thing, cause he seemed like a funny guy, I couldve actually sworn that the duck walking about on stage was actually deliberate. I thought he was gonna do something funny - I was wrong

Then I've never seen an act like that go wrong - such a shame on such a big show
