Quite honestly, if someone is burning my hands, I won't do a pass, I'll do a diagonal palm shift or a double undercut. Why you all might ask? It looks pretty good to me! (and by the way, I am NOT a master of the pass)
Because when you square the deck, who does a quick rocking motion back and forth, besides magicians? It's simply not natural!
If the person averts their eyes for even a second I actually won't rock the deck, I'll just execute an incredibly fast pass without moving my hands more than absolutely necessary. The reason I rock the deck is really in order to hide the pass when I'm performing for 3+ people (because one person is usually watching my hands at all times).
Believe me guys, a natural pass is an invisible pass. If you jump up and down, wave your arms around, and spin in circles while doing the pass, nobody will see it. But they'll know something happened to that deck while you had your back turned.
