Chas and dave are great but then so is arctic monkeys. I have never heard of just jack now im interested to see who he is. Anyway back to the subject in hand, I don't think Dynamo is meant to have a presentation and patter I think he just does what he does and it comes out how it comes out and that's why teenagers like him. This is what the youth of today want so he is giving it to them and he was right to because look where he is. He may prefer a different type of magic but does this because he would rather be at the top of the laymans list rather than do magic magicians want's to see and be at the top of the magicians list and if this is true good luck to him because I would do the same thing.

but Dynamo can get away with as he is designed to appeal to the (incredibly) common man.

What a load of Guff! i would like to know how he is 'designed' to be like this. I know some guys who grew up with Dynamo and i've met him, he is not a Chav one bit. He has a Bradford accent and dresses in the way he likes, the last time i checked the stereotypical CHAV (a term which was coined by lazy tabloid journalist and used by people to judge the modern working class) - was not how you'd picture dynamo, he has more of a hip-hop style.

His dress and manner are designed to appeal to the younger 'chav' type which is why his tv special had him going around council estates entertaining commoners

Freddie you are clearly an ill-educated bint who has no clue how magic or the world works, you obviously read the sun and take it as fact. I would also like to say it is a not a good attitude to have, i think you must honestly believe that you are BETTER than a person if they are from a council estate. The point of his TV special was exactly that, he can walk into a council estate and perform just as he can walk into a studio and perform for Chris Martin (coldplay). - it is just a different style and delivery of Magic to a polished tuxedo type, they all have their merits.

I never saw the wossy show, but Dynamo is who he is, i know what your saying but if you walked into a rough working class pub and start using the same patter as some other magicians you would get battered.

I think you will also find Lord Freddie, that 'The Streets' were universally regarded as the group that really brought a genre to the mainstream, the genre that is known as "UK Garage". You could argue he is a CHAV but like all hip-hop artists he talks about real life in the sphere of the young working class - if you are not familiar with this world then ok, but don't slag it off without as much as an iota of fact behind your argument - their are kids out there who do text with a Z instead of an S and do say DA instead of THE - so in the case of Just Jack and others it is literally art imitating life.

I really would like to educate you in the way of the world but it would take years, you give magicians a bad name and your supremacist attitude stinks.

You are obviously one of those magicians who is really smug with the audience and i really do hope one day that you get a good beating and learn from it.

I am a torry voting , Daily mail reading , venison eating boy I have no problems with that I am working class lived on a council estate all my life work as a labourer. And I have the same views as Freddie on many issues some I don’t have and some I don’t really care about to quote the man in black “I know how you feel about some things , I don’t about others , its none of my business on others and I don’t care about some things” so before we all draw up our class lines lets be careful

And this “UK garage scene” being the bastion of the working class all in there very expensive cars and house how street and with it are they? Its like the punk movement was started off by middle class art students it wasn’t no voice of the working classes, and isn’t every one who works working class? Unlike a lot of “chavs” who sign on who don’t work at all so surely they should be the signing classes. I don’t care much for the streets or this Just Jack personage but all in all just because you live some where or like a certain musical style doesn’t mean you are this that or the other. I like Johnny cash but I am no cow boy.

As for the smug magicians I think that’s a poison that is killing magic, and you can go in these working class pubs and act like that , you are confusing working class with moronic. If you do it right you can get away with so much.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

The thing is with chavs, knock their moronic pseudo-US hip-hop culture and they get all uppity. As this thread has proven!

Dynamo, as a magician, is doing well for himself and performs some tricks very slickly, that I don't dispute, but putting clips of him break dancing on his magic DVD does mean it's aimed at that kind of market.

Why have that on there if it's about the magic?

Good luck to him, but he is chavvy and I know little 'light drug' taking tw*ts like mikey.666 and king of keighley will try and imitate him in an awful way that people imitated Blaine and Brown.

Dynamo is magic for the ellusionist crowd.

Howzat?

A chav is someone who wear sportswear, talks in a fake Jamaican accent (depite being born and bred in the UK) and likes all things American.
Street Rats, I call them.
Just Jack is not an amazing artist, he will be forgotten this time next year and all the little chavs that bought his CD's will be selling them off down the local Trade Exchange to get some money to purchase 'light drugs'.

Yah man you be trippen. Da bad vibes on the accent aint flipping with my flip flop maaaaan.

Freddie I don't like having a go at people especially on the internet and especially on a fairly new forum to me. But you are one closed minded arrogant t*at. I'm sorry to say it but you are. You are in your own world and everybody to you are commoners. I'm a working class 18 year old who has stayed out of drugs and muggings that seem to populate my area and I'm proud of my roots. Just because I'm not a smug, classy car owning, big house show off doesn't mean I'm not equal to you. I have the same rights as you, I probably have a better life than you as I enjoy every second of mine. I love to entertain, be entertained and have a good time. I realise how precious life is and that is why I do not like argueing with anyone. I don't put people down, or hurt anybodys feelings. This is an exception.

It just annoys me how closed minded peole can be. Open your eyes and step into the shoes of other people once in your life. Don't knock people down you don't know what they may have been through. Some people may dress as 'chavs' only to stop themselves getting into any trouble when they're out of the house just becase of the area they live in.

I think I went in too deep. I'm on about life and stuff like that when this is just a magic forum. I just needed to get it off my chest.

Calm down, dear boy. All that angst and testosterone raging will do you no good.
You don't know what I have been through. I've had a terrible week. Fortnum & Mason had run out of my favourite caviar and the humidor was running low on big, juicy cubans. And I had some guests coming over!

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the sort of people who say "innit", live on a diet of MacDonald's, watch the latest films on pirate DVD's filmed on a camera phone and shop at Primark.
In fact, I am happy to entertain them. I just don't really want to socialise with them.

Anyway, this threads gone orf topic....

Yo dudes! Wasn't Dynamo wikked on jonafon ross last nite. Word, guy!
I'm gonna buy the dvd about how to do his tricks off ellusionist and freak out all the dudes at my school. Aiiiiii!

Of course, my dear chap. And you need someone to look up to as well.
I think elocution lessons should be on the school curriculum.

How threatening would a chav be if he sounded like Kenneth Williams?

I look up to decent magicians and people....

Unfortunately you show yourself to be neither :?

I guess some people are just here to, well, I'm not gonna go there. This is a family forum after all. :)

Going back to the original post though, I thought Dynamo was incredibly sloppy on Jonathan Ross's show. 'Mumbling and fumbling' pretty much sums it up perfectly. He didn't convey any real personality and I came away with the distinct feeling that he was way out of his depth. I hate knocking other performers, and I'm sure Dynamo's great in his own environment, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.
