Hey y'all, the Daryl notes containing this trick are available from Alakazam and the version therein requires you to buy two cubes and make up the gaff. Apparently it's pretty straightforward.

I searched on Alakazam and found a bunch of listings for Daryl. Do you know the exact name of the item the trick comes in? Thanks.

I notice in some shops there are sudoku cubes - would these be adaptable for this sort of routine?

I haven't got it yet and will most probably place an order in the next day or two.

I'll then let you know.

Guys,

I can confirm that the mid-80's version of this was also known as the Enhanted Cube - I purchased mine from Supreme Magic around 1985/6.

If you have the lecture notes, I can also confirm that it's possible to make your own, using 2 shop-bought cubes (although mine came with a custom-made gimmick, allowing you to show all SIX sides solved).

It's a very nice effect indeed, and can be made with any type of cube (yes - even the Sudoku ones :D , which would be quite a nice twist - yes, that really is a very poor Rubik's Cube pun there!!)

Hey cut!

Seriously - you need zero craft skills, and very little by way of patience to put one of these together.

All you need is the lecture notes, two cubes, and about 10 minutes - honestly, a five year old could create this gaff

I'm guessing you haven't got the lecture notes as yet, though, as you'd already have your gaffed cube made by now if you knew the procedure; seriously, this is highly recommended, and well worth the tiny bit of effort to put together.

I can't say any more, for fear of tipping the working, but you don't even need to take the cube apart to gaff it!

Buy the notes - I promise you won't regret it :D

The one that I ordered from Hank Lee was delivered within a week and that surprised me! I've also ordered another item since which also arrived in pretty much the same time.

The pound to dollar excahnge rate is also very good at the moment so you have little excuse for ordering one.

I see from a previous post that you can't hand the completed cube out in Daryl's version.

Is it possible for spectators to handle the solved cube with the Hank Lee version?

Without wishing to incite any arguments - and having only seen one version - I suspect both operate under the same principle; if so, I very much doubt it (unless you can switch a cube  )
