i didnt ask for your secrets or your methods. i just meant your effects describe one too me after all your a magicman mentalist whatever you want too be called we keep secrets and i dont expect you to blabber secrets to your greatest tricks for one im a junior member your elite and lay off the critisims i know my secrets and you know yors.

oh and also if you know derren's missing card trick may i say if he use his years of learnings its a shame he didn't think the same desired effect could and has by me be achived with a svengali deck.

No I do not use the svengali deck as I am not into mentalism.

All I need to perform is a normal deck of cards and big sleeves which I always have packed with loads of other decks. People always catch me out and say I have things up my sleeves. So I need to change tact.

I might try ang get into mentalism more as I watched Trick or Treat and it looks quite easy. Do you think I'd need to watch more of DB shows like Trick of the mind first? Or do I have enough experience to start performing now?

go for it wills, all you need is confidence and a sevgnalli deck and the ability to slip in some key words and trick people into thinking they have a three choice. no experience needed.
keep the sleeves and the other decks though.

By "missing card trick" do you mean "Smoke"? The svengali isn't really examinable, which means you have a major compromise to deal with.

Abraxus, for the record, is capable of calling (or even texting!) someone, having them select any book/magazine/comic/whatever and flicking to a random page, then telling them the words on the page. I should know: It's a rather clever application of a principle I came up with (he said polishing his trumpet)... I myself can send someone into a library, have them pick a book, a page and a word, call me and be told what the word is using the same principle. Mucking about with trying to linguistically force numbers between 1 and 10 is very basic. Try having the spectator fill in all the details of an imaginary journey then opening a sealed prediction they've had in their hand all the time, and which describes the same details?

Oh, and "elite" refers to the number of posts made, not some level of acceptance. You should notice these things if you're going to make proper contributions to Talk Magic.

Sorry to be harsh, but you seem to be labouring under the impression that the few simple techniques you do know are on a par with the rest of mentalism. They're not. They're very basic indeed. There's a world of exciting things to discover if you'd only get of your laurels and study.

well wills its not all cards obviously so to start with what other types of trick favour your skills and 2nd try and learn the basics of derrens tecniques so yes watch more derren trick of the mind would be a good viewing. first look at this to try and understand his tecniques.
