I read the first novel in that series whilst in Cape Town last October and am now on the second one. Not normally my kind of literature but I'm enjoying it! Apparently there's a TV film in production at the moment so it'll reach a wider audience soon......

Yes, my missus got me the Rope Trick book and I finished it already. A great read. Peter Lamont's other book The First Psychic is also a great read.

Met the lamont at a Psychology conference the man is a legend! Great tips on the use of a TT.

Really? :D He certainly knows his stuff and writes in an engaging way.
Both of his books I have read have been superb reads. Anything else he writes I will definitley have a gander at.

They've been serialised on Radio 4 just recently. I think it was the books, but may have been specially written for radio using the characters from the books - I only caught the last five minutes of one episode. Sounded very much like an African Agatha Christie - the crimes being investigated weren't the most horrific, and there was an air of innocence that brought to mind British crime writing from the late 19th and early 20th century. But that may be Radio 4 for you.

That air of simplicity and innocence is in the books so it sounds like a sympathetic handling when transferring to radio. I only hope the TV/film version is as good.

Well...I finally spent the last of the Christmas money the other day...and bought the few magical items I will be having this...or rather last... year:

Brick of Bikes
Some new Half Dollars
Spongeball Toolbox

All of which are being packed or are in the post as I type and should be with me in a few days if the wife is willing to stop in to accept the delivery!!!!

I did get one magical item as a Christmas present. It was the Magic at your Fingertips DVD from Theatrix.

I don't like it very much, though, because the guy who demonstrates the tricks has a presentational style that gets right up my nose. Uses the word "cool" far too often and moves his eyebrows far too much.

I could learn a few things from the DVD, but I'd have to stomach the presentation to get the most out of it.
