Well, so would I. But that didn't stop me from being somewhat disappointed when I first opened Pure Effect. It is a very good book, but the contents aren't what you might think a "Derren Brown magic book" would contain. There are some effects in it, but it's mostly essays, ponderings, and musings aimed at the advanced performer. (Much more advanced than me!)

I haven't read Absolute Magic yet, but have been slightly put off it by the price and the suspicion that it covers similar ground. There are more necessary basic books that my very limited budget should go on first.

When I phoned Keith Bennett to order this ages ago, that was virtually what he said to me - and he was right!

I got both pure effect and absolute magic from ebay but you have to be prepared to spend quite a lot of money on them. If you can only afford one at a time I reccomend absolute magic first. Its a gem.

A couple of posts have been moved, please bear in mind that offers of downloads, copies of PDFs etc are not in accord with TM policy and may very well attract legal attention from the author's organisation.
