MasterCyde,

Firstly well done for having a go. It sounds like you have accomplished plenty. Catalepsy, amnesia, numerous inductions and possibly your first abreaction. You are a hypnotist.

I think you have recognized what might have caused the tears. A few simple words of reassurance, checking in every now and again when you wake them up 'how good did that feel?, how relaxing was that? and most importantly suggesting it will feel good works. Not being able to move, no being able to remember anything or hallucinating can be unsettling. Recognize the subject is suggestible and tell them how it will be. Of course if you want them scared, suggest that and qualify it. If you want them animated and excited tell them that. There is another reason for tears and for that refer to the notes about abreaction. Manage it and there will not be a problem. Keep calm, reassure them and suggest all will be fine, then do a proper wake up.

My suggestion is do similar stuff again, take a bit of deepen to deepen, perhaps fractionate. Ensure it is pleasant, her own private place of hypnosis. Test your work. Then go for amnesia - a few variations of it. Then move onto negative hallucinations. Then tell her later on when you ask her to think of a card she will say 7 H. Give her amnesia. Phrase it well.

Let us know how you get on.

Anthony

...I brought her back and she said she really enjoyed it that time. Thank god for that. I'm gonna try it again on her tomorrow after watching the DVD and maybe go for some negative hallucinations or something. I've got a lot to learn but feel more confident now. Poor girl..

hypnotised 2 subjects yesterdya, one who I had done in the past, and one who was a skeptic.

I really saw the power of the set pieces in regards to the skeptic. He was struggling against the magnetic fingers. I told him the point was to let go and see the power of his subconsicous mind.

By the end of it I had him as a seven year old with a pet pig. He nearly cried when I put it in an invisible grinder.

Needless to say I'm still enjoying it

Great stuff.

A promo for a show pilot I recently worked on is now on the web.

Shame you cannot see the routines in full as each lasted a good 25 minutes. I am sure you will get the idea though.

That comes across as deeply unpleasant.

I've always fancied producing a hypnosis show that concentrated on tapping into people's hidden potential rather than the traditional making arses out of people.

True. But I did ask him before hand if he would mind!

I have read through about 3/4th of my book now and I'm thrilled.

There are two things I'm wondering about, Anthony:

1) I have a good friend that stammers sometimes. Would it be possible to hypnotise him and tell him that after opening his eyes he can talk without stammering? If possible, how deep would he have to be?

2) I saw a Canadian hypnotist on stage a few years ago and he told the subjects that they would take with them, as a gift, more confidence, more success and more love of life and it would affect them in a positive way all their life. I was wondering, doesn't hypnosis "wear off" after a limited time?

Thanks again for a fantastic book!

Hi Gunnar,

Thanks for writing.

My day job as you know is using hypnosis to help people - I have worked full time as a hypnotherapist for nearly 7 years and my father has done so too for the best part of 15 years. Hypnosis can indeed help stammerers. However it is usually slightly more involved than just telling them they will no longer stammer, although that direct approach is a start. I don;t really gauge depth other than to give a suggestion and see how they respond. If you have an interest in the therapy side then there are a number of books I can recommend.

The stage hypnotist you saw is actually leaving his ubjects with some feel good post hypnotic suggestions. How long they will last is guesswork. Erickson gave post hypnotic suggestions and tested them years later.

Hi Kems,

rather than discount the book I support fellow performers by providing supplementary material to my book specifically aimed at them and doing my upmost to answer questions. I also periodically run free one day training courses where you can put things into practice.

Best regards,

Anthony

Something I forgot to mention...I've been doing the ultimate PK Touches using hypnosis.

I made someone else invisible, and got them to just start poking the participant.

Works wonders...no gimmicks, no dangers of getting caught by the participant, and can be done with eyes wide open!

Love it! haha

Thank you so much for your reply, Anthony. I will finish Reality is Plastic first and consider this at a later stage.

It's not my call, but I would find it rather unfair towards the TM members that have already bought it, true?

Well, I heard that Gordon Brown enforced British terrorist law on him.
But you should stick to the topic in this thread, or were you appointed the TM bully?
