It's on several times this week and again next Monday - have a look at www.magicweek.co.uk and TV Magic for all the broadcast details. It won't get any better though...

I recorded an afternoon showing and fast-forwarded through most of it. The voice-over got on my nerves.

I watched a recording last night. Dreadful. Just very boring and spun-out. Half-way through I started fast-forwarding. And yes, during the close-up effects his fingernails were clearly in a state. Classy...

I missed it too but I know it's on ITV Player for another 3 weeks so i'll bag it up this afternoon probably.

As I mentioned elsewhere, www.magiweek.co.uk used to refer to these shows as soul-less magic. They got it absolutely right.

The original idea was to expose the 'tired old stuff' and thus force magicians to rethink, introduce new and exciting effects and so on. A) that ignored the fact that many 'old' effects are classics and still very enjoyable and B) how the heck does exposing the floating soda can with a less than amateur presentation help advance magic? Even the white lines on the mask looked like they'd been done freehand in a hurry  !

Yep, just watched it. Pretty terrible although showing the magnetic ring was a bit annoying.

The second show seemed to be even worse. Needless exposure of haunted hanky and healed and sealed (although missing a few of the niceties which makes that routine far better!) and some very slow and overrated big stage effects which really aren't all that impressive anyway so it's quite clear that the original idea of encouraging new magic has been abandoned and these are just out to spoil. Once again Mrs. M watched and she figured out every one of them because the 'performance' was so painfully lacking in pizzazz and presentation. I noticed in Magic Magazine that there are thirteen of these shows but in one US area it was taken off after 8 shows to make way for another show, apparently broadcasts will be resumed in March. The significant point made was that the viewing figures for this current 'Secrets Revealed;' is described as 'low' and averaging about 2 million.

After watching the clip of poker players picnic being messed up I don't think I could sit through a full hour of it.

Even the 'lovely assistants' can't make up for how poor it is!

Mostly I think these shows just need laughing off for the drivel they are, but aren't the creators/owners of Prohibition/H&S able to take legal action? I didn't see the show but those reveals do irk me actually.

If someone sees a totally lack-lustre "performance" of either, then learns the secret, then sees someone perform it well but knows from the start how it's done... how has that advanced or helped magic in any way - not only has the creator been insulted but the spectator in question has been robbed of the experience.

I'd like to not be bothered, but... :?

Oh my God there's more of them? I thought it was a one off or a repeat. Are they brand new shows? I'll be back onto itvplayer to cringe my way through the latest one.

Bleurgh. So boring - just a BAD programme. No entertainment value, poor quality tricks, like watching an annoying brat messing around in a supermarket winding everyone up. No more please.

They are also sending this show in Sweden, first i thought it was the old shows from 98 something, but when I saw the Bentley & the Lambo, I was mistaken. Damn his not good The Masked Magician, even if he is masked, he should be embarrassed of is own performance.

sorry for my poor english
