I've only been to one blackpool convention last year but I'd say go to the lecture before the one you want to see if possible and get to that one as early as possible to hold your seat.

Worry not though there is a huge tv screen broadcasting everything so you should be able to see what's going on.

I'm lucky enough to see loads of great lectures in the year and went to three only last year. This time though I think I'll be getting to more given the line up.

I got the programme last night, no names next to the lecture slots in most cases but nice to know the format of the day at least in the early stages.

PS Gold tickets are still available.

Even if its standing room only, as long as the sound and TV system is working you'll see and hear OK. In previous years microphones have broken down, the TV cameras have thrown a wobbly or weren't picking up the nitty gritty and on other occasions the lecturers had very strong accents which made it difficult to understand the lecture. Despite any of that, it's always been well worthwhile! Your main problem will be when two events clash and you have to decide which to see and which to miss.

PZ once said he makes a point of attending just to ignore all the lectures and shows and sit in the bar doing magic for anyone in there. In previous years we've seen Justin Lee Collins, Alan Carr and Jonathan Goodwin quaffing ale, chatting to all & sundry, Ali Bongo is usually there looking as dapper as ever. Pete Firman was seen last year browsing the bookstalls, Kerry Scorah was in the dealer room... there again, it's the biggest Magic convention so such notables are only to be expected!

Sorry, just a little joke at TM. A couple of years ago myself and Majortom were at the BPool convention having a drink when (the actor) John Thompson walks past, I turn to Tom and say "hang on, is John Thompson John Thompson?"

Turns out he's not!

We at least we don't have dead people in the "can been seen floating about"..

Jeremy beadle was listed previously as someone you might be able to see at blackpool!!

But there's a huge amount to do on the convention site still including just tidying up old content and guides..

So if you do spot errors, or even have suggestions just email me or pm me..

I am sure Mr. Mandrake and myself will both have a few in our pockets for such an occasion.

Errr I'm confused, are you lot joking about wearing talkmagic badges.
If not I have not got one, so can anyone tell me where I can get one from.
As I'm daft enough to wear one...lol

Fairly serious, the idea of TalkMagic badges was mentioned several times last year and we finally got our butts into gear to have a batch made - see the thread at http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic28170.php
There are plenty available and, so far, a very discerning, high class and astute band of members have invested in one or more. Wearing them is optional although it would help spot fellow members at conventions and it would also guarantee frantic and physically amorous activities with the partner of your choice. OK, I lied about that last bit but what the heck :D !

I want one...

Can I get one at the convention or would it be better to get one now as per the link Mandrake posted.

If someone has one spare (Mark, Lawrence, Mandrake, etc) on Saturday I will get it off you in the bar and pay you by options below.

A: Straight Cash (Price shown in link)

B: Pint or two of beer, lager or cider of your choice.

C: All of the above plus lap dance
