I would love to attend this... I'd be driving up from Petersfield (near Portsmouth) and there are a few travel lodges around for about 50 quid (room sleeps 3) so if anyone wants to share petrol and room from this area it would make it cheaper - let me know soon though there are only 10 tickets left!

Thrills.

Roll up! Roll up! Please continue to purchase your tickets! Dave Taylor & Anthony Jaquin are hard at work on their routines... plus we have the mysterious Evanna. Who is she? Where is she from? The only way to solve the mystery is to get your ticket and get yourself down there on the night! :D

I'll be there as well but don't let that put you off.

I've used that joke before haven't I? My jokes are like my magic - same old rubbish rehashed time and time again.

Well, so far we have sold 24 tickets. Not the overwhelming response I was hoping for! As well as promoting the night here on TM, I've been pushing it on Magic Bunny (the thread I created has been ignored completely by the members there - an odd bunch), the Genii forum, it has been mentioned on Magic Week, and I have personally emailed most magic clubs and societies in England. The only magic society to actually reply to my email was the Derby Circle, but I don't think any of their members have bought tickets.

The event will still be going ahead which is good news. However with just 24 tickets sold, by the time the venue and the food has been paid for and the performers paid (all of whom are taking very small fees to appear at the night), there will be no profit in it for the company who are hosting the event. All of which means that this event really will be a "one-off". The company have decided not to host any future "straight" magic nights because of the lack of enthusiasm for this event, which is a real shame as I am in a position now to put on some cracking nights if only people would attend.

UNLESS of course people rush out over the next two weeks and snap up all the tickets! So please, if you are "umming and arring" over it, just bite the bullet and think to yourself "By George, yes! I am going to go to that night of magic that that bloke from Talk Magic keeps banging on about!" Drive to Middleton Hall if you can, or walk, or get a taxi or a bus, or roller skate, or crawl, but please, please, get yourself to Middleton Hall on April 11th. We have the South East Magic Convention close-up champion and the UK's leading hypnotist appearing! And an enigmatic young lady by the name of Evanna! And food! Yes, a two course sit-down meal! And a bar! There is a bar! And the bar serves drinks! And I'll be there and will happily read your palm in the bar area when you arrive! On the house!

NEWS FLASH! FREE PALM READINGS for all if you'll only buy tickets!!!!

Tickets priced at a very reasonable £59. Please don't make me beg anymore!

Thank you in advance. :D

Just to let you all know that I'll be performing a classics of magic set from the Victorian era on the said evening.

Lots of familiar items on show as well as a couple of unfamiliar ones

That was my problem - I'm working all day on Easter Sunday and can't afford to be sleep-deprived (I'd be unlikely to get home before 4am). :(

Just to let folks now that Paul Brooks has kindly volunteered to email details of the event out to his mailing list, and Duncan Trillo has agreed to run another feature on the night in this Saturday's Magic Week.

Hopefully this may put a few more bums on seats! :D

Situation no longer vacant

Sad to hear of the news on Abra through Dales post. I can't seem to find any more information on this, even on the Davenports web site.
