I loved how at the second private reading, he asked the lady of she had spoken to Derren before, she said no and he said "that's a lie, because Derren told me you had." when she clarified that she had that morning, but not before that day, he then attacked Derren calling him a liar as he had said that he hadn't spoken to her before.

In the space of three seconds he swapped position, first he attacked her because Derren said they had spoken, then he atacked Derren cos Derren said they hadn't spoken. Way to make yourself look like a complete idiot on camera.

The bit that got me was "You know about the affair?" and then when there was no reaction, just refusing to chase it up. Just goes to show that the mediums are comforting thing is rubbish.

That was an extremely sh*tty thing to do to someone in a state of belief. Not just unprofessional but really sh*tty.

Fair warning: If I'm ever in the same room as someone who does that, I will immediately expose you. There's a burden of care when someone's in such a state. If you abuse it, I don't care who you are, you're in trouble.

It's a discussion on BBC Radio Oxford from this morning. The American ex-lawyer Robert Ginsberg is a worrying gem.

Suppose I'm looking for communication with a deceased loved one -- let's say my father. I'm sure there are several important things he'd want to try to get across to me. I'm equally sure how many siblings he had is not one of them.

At one point in the programme, Powers seemed to imply all that number rigmarole was being communicated by the spirits as proof they were who they claimed to be.

I can think of a lot of things my father could say to prove his identity, and all of them more interesting than a number. Go on then, Powers, what was his pseudonym? Tell me that and I'll be impressed.

The thing that always seems to irk me about the whole idea of mediums is that if a sitter is open enough to accept that a loved one can communicate through a medium then I'm totally positive that the loved one would be able to find away to communicate directly with the sitter . I know exactly what message my Nan would have for me if I paid £50 to a medium to talk to her and it wouldn't be to tell me how many brothers I've got or what car I drive.

When I die, I am gonna do everything I can to communicate with everybody.

Exactly. If anyone's got time, download a video of a reading from YouTube, put it through Movie Maker and re-edit it to put the information in the reverse order it was given. It's MUCH more impressive. Big, clear hits first, trivia later.
