True, many of the major ones are well known, but if we ban the sales of those and not others we will be in even more risk of coming under fire from double standards, and since this seems to be a large part of you earlier argument I am not sure that it is reasonable. There is also the problem that we have to be certain of the heritage of any trick that is sold. Just because a new trick comes ou that is the same as an older one doesn't mean that it is automatically a rip-off, the creator may have registered prior knowledge, in which case he would have every right to sell it and we could come under serious fire for banning its sale.
We have to have a policy that is very broad, so the one we have settled on is that dvd, video and book sales will not be allowed and trick sales will. After all, many magic dealers are unable to discriminate between rip-offs and they have potentially more to lose than we do.
