I'm working on it! I'm just trying to pay off Randi.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

I can do this without gimmicks...I have hazel eyes, and just by closing them and telling the speaker to choose and eye colour, when I open them they have "changed"....The suggestion is so strong that the spec only sees the colour they have choose within the hazel pigmentation...Its something I discovered by accident and is a very strong effect.

biokinesis

Postby roblane » Aug 6th, '10, 22:00

I've pre-ordered this, and I'll tell you why. As a hobbyist who performs a lot for fam & friends I suffer from that well known problem....familiarity. It's nigh on impossible to convince them of your 'serious' talents. When I perform anything for someone 'new', the reactions are amazing in comparison. My idea for the 'eye change' is to perform it whilst attempting to 'telepathise', complete with shakes, dribbling and spasm. Come out of it swiftly with perhaps a shake of the head and a 'wow, that felt strange'. Then 'fail' to read the thought, only to show it predicted at a later stage ala 'svenvelope' Okay, maybe no dribbling (or spasm)

I think there all trying to refrain from thinking of more puns to go with your avatar. Many threads have been lost by that in the past, for example: http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic36190-0-asc-0.php

Just looked at the Marc Spelmann performance. What a boring, lacklustre presentation. And the fake lenses did nothing to help.
I think this effect is a bit of a cod, which will quickly fade into obscurity.
Someone suggested a more subtle eye colour change. The problem with that is that people in general don't notice eye colour. I was married ten years, and couldn't tell you the colour of my ex's eyes. I have been shaving thirty years and couldn't tell you the colour of my own eyes. I think this is one that definitely deserves to be skipped.

or, maybe you just dont notice those kinds of things?!

though i am a little surprised you dont know your own eye colour...

i agree actually, for stage, unless you have cameras on you - people wont notice...

but up close, where you will be making lots of eye contact...thats a different matter...

Because, real are more effective than the artificial.

Thank god. I thought I was the only person who found him boring.

Bought his DVD. Didn't watch more than 20 minutes I think before returning it.

I already have the contacts and I believe I can reproduce this with them, I myself use the contacts for Halloween events just for the added creepy look. I could see having it change like this would be neat but not really magic any laymen will know they are contacts. I agree that the movie industry should be using this if they are not already. Perhaps thats where the idea came from?
