Just got back from tonight's show in Stoke - and I'm quietly impressed
After reading a few of the comments, my expectations were somewhat lower that usual but DB did a terrific job of (as previously mentioned) getting a huge amount of mileage out of some basic techniques in the first half. The second half wasn't
quite as successful in terms of pacing and tone (IMHO, of course) but the ending was quite unexpected - Derren is becoming quite the showman!!
I'd agree with eveningzoo's comments about the two areas that left him baffled - maybe I'll start having a serious think about those methods tomorrow. Or maybe not..
On a side note, my wife (long suffering test subject of all manner of tricks) said it was the most enjoyable DB show she'd seen (we've seen them all) - and she was particularly taken with the opening 'shoe' effect..... not sure what that tells you about her
I'll probably try and go again on the second go-around next year - to see any changes, etc...
A top night!
