Magic on tv discussed on magic forums tends to usually be nobodies who can barely get a gig trying to tell highly paid, successful people where they are going wrong.
Other than Derren Brown, magicians seem to hate seeing magic on tv.

Lol! I was referring to these kinds of threads in general. There is rarely anything positive and tends to be posts by either someone trying to a smart a$$ and mentioning the name of the effect, who first performed it etc, people slagging off the performances or giving their sage like advice from their bedroom at their mums house. Infuriating and comical in equal measures. Wait till the new Dynamo series starts, it'll get worse...

It all goes full circle though. The reason I post a lot less now than say 18 months ago is because all the "new" topics are the same old subjects. I also find the more I actually perform and practice the less time I have to post about it on a forum.

Overall I have to say I enjoyed the series, especially Pete Firman. He came across as a very likeable man, not afraid to laugh at himself.

Fantastic illusion by Latimer with the water on the last show, also liked Barry and Stuarts water into wine trick on an earlier episode.

Yes, I hope for another series, Good Stuff!

Having watched this second series with interest, I have to say that I found it far more enjoyable than the first.

Loosing Lenny Henry was, in no way, a bad thing (and I'm guessing has made the show far cheaper to produce, too!!), and we've seen some really cracking material this year, all told.

I'm really hoping we get news of a recommission sooner, rather than later :D

I really enjoyed this series a lot better then the first, I think Darren was better then Lenny Henry and having Pete Firman and Latimer joining Barry & Stuart was good. Been a fan of Pete Firman and Barry & Stuart before the show but having never seen Latimer before would like to see him live. I have Barry & Stuart tickets for there show in May, cant wait!

I hope they do a 3rd series of Magicians :-)

You can understand how we feel when we see these 'new' topics cropping up for the umpteenth time! However, as there are always newcomers discovering magic for all sorts of reasons there's bound to be a lot of repetition, I said there's bound to be a lot of repetition....

Despite what I thought was a fairly weak start, this series certainly improved from week 2 onwards. OK, we had some unfortunate events, The Slicer and the Chair Vanish in particular but few outside of magic would be worrying about it. Another series would be good, perhaps in the lead up to Christmas but in the meantime, all the professional magicians on the show are touring or in stage shows so it’s an ideal time to see what they can do when they aren’t in competition and involving amateurs, apart from volunteers of course, in the act.

I think Jason Latimer is the star of this series. I was fairly unfamiliar with his work beforehand but thought he performed some great illusions on the show. It may not be the best magic show ever, but it's certainly very entertaining and popular with the muggles.

I think another series would be great. Perhaps with a bigger budget allowing the director more time to plan all the camera angles for the live part of the show.
