As soon as I saw the 7 of Diamonds appear I knew how it was done. 2 minutes later my arm sported a "stigmata" as well. Half an hour after that it came back to me that as a kid I used to do something similar to create false temporary scars on my arm.

No wonder Ellusionist didn't show the actual stigmata in the preview.

not trying to cause trouble or anything but...maybe its just me but isnt this a type of exposure...it doesnt seem it is exposure but i know as soon as i read this i knew the method and how to create the stigmata quite perfectly...

and i feel kind of bad because banachek came up with this and many are getting it for free because once you know the actual 'stigmata' part the rest is all easy..

sorry rubber chicken im not putting you down or anything and i dont care that you posted it but i want banachek to have the respect he deserves and not have people figuring out the method this easily...mods is this exposure???

again not trying to cause trouble im just stating a point and asking a question to save more free stigmatas :D

thanks :D

No offence taken and I actually agree with you thinking it over now. I'd delete my original post but I've been quoted a few times now so I think the mods will have to step in if they feel it neccessary.

However, the problem is if people see your video and start to guess or reverse engineer the method then I believe the video should be taken down.

But isn't that the same with many other tricks? For example, the sinful coin in soda - though it is better to buy the dvd, and have it taught perfectly, it is possible to just guess the method by doing what Wayne does. I deliberately left out the part where the magician uses misdirection due to misdirection not really working on film ;)

p.s. thanks for your comment. Do you perform it much? WHat reactions do you get?

Yes you are right, it is possible - but very few people have figured Sinful out just by watching the demo.

I believe with video, people who watch really closely and repeatedly can work out any effect, but some more so that others; I believe Stigmata falls into this category.

In real life your presentation and showmanship will compensate for this, obviously this isn’t the case with video, unless you filmed a proper performance that showed the effect for what it is, as apposed to just some writing on your arm? Hope you get my point.

I am yet to perform Stigmata, I’ve shown it to my practice buddy (version 2 on the DVD) and it went down really well, but I am currently working on how to present this to fit my style. I am also working on Stigmata version 3 from the DVD – just seeing how many people the psychological force works on, at the moment…quite a few.

Ok - after all this discussion I removed it.

Thanks for viewing it anyhow!

If you'd actually seen the video you would know Banaceck actually appears on it and discusses the effect in some detail, so I'm sure he will benifit from this rip off of his effect... yet another rip off of an old effect filmed to marketing perfection... God I hate the money making machine called "Delusionist".. keep spending your money suckers!

Not directed at you.... It just pees me off to see people arguing over exposure when the trick is yet again an old trick rehashed and sold yet again to a magically uneducated begineer who thinks its the best thing since sliced bread, when if the magic community was like it should be he would already know not to waste his money...

Well said mate. Even IF the effect was "rehashed" and sold again, rehashing it takes time and effort. Wayne deserves respect for what he has done with the effect
