Not going to get started on an 'Abolish Gender' discussion here...so I will stick with the un-avoidable sterotyping.
Women definitely DO have CUPS, I think it just comes in different forms to men's. Where as men might buy some random object that really does nothing useful, just because they have money/it looks good, where as women might buy say...another handbag, another pair of shoes, that they don't need, probably will never ever wear. I know someone who even buys shoes that aren't even in their size if they like them =\ bizarre.
I don't think I have it personally, because of being a poor student I tend to make my purchases things I want (maybe not need, but very few things are necessary). I can spend money like no-ones business though, anyone's money
Yes, I am a woman, and yes I do think that a lot of the women-not-doing-magic thing is down to not seeing any (well I haven't personally) female magicians. I did get magic sets when I was a kid, which I loved, and bored my parents-and anyone who'd sit still for five minutes-with. I even made movies of my tricks, complete with Mystic Meg Voice...don't ask.
Anyway, I'm not entirely sure WHY it is that men are more sucessful with Magic. Maybe it's just that it's viewed as a male hobby. I find it takes me quite a long time to get the hang of tricks, especially if they involve cards. But then I think that's a personal thing, I'm not very co-ordinated with my hands. Though I am trying VERY hard learning forces.
