bocher tov!

ah!! I can't buy anything. I swear to g-d I am just like my mother with spending. I could carry 200 bucks in my pocket for a month and not spend a dime. I'm so bad I actually charge interest when I loan my friends money.

My mom was the worst though for chanukkah when we were kids she'd be like "look what I got you the best present because no body else will get one" and it would be a refrigerator box! Literally! A Box every year and we were siced we didn't know we were getting gyped 8) Or she'd take us to the toy store, not to buy anything, but to give us the gift of looking at all the cool new toys and playing with them in the store. Oh we thought she was a big spender 8)

Nice to meet a fellow yid

 Not going to get started on an 'Abolish Gender' discussion here...so I will stick with the un-avoidable sterotyping.

Women definitely DO have CUPS, I think it just comes in different forms to men's. Where as men might buy some random object that really does nothing useful, just because they have money/it looks good, where as women might buy say...another handbag, another pair of shoes, that they don't need, probably will never ever wear. I know someone who even buys shoes that aren't even in their size if they like them =\ bizarre.

I don't think I have it personally, because of being a poor student I tend to make my purchases things I want (maybe not need, but very few things are necessary). I can spend money like no-ones business though, anyone's money

Yes, I am a woman, and yes I do think that a lot of the women-not-doing-magic thing is down to not seeing any (well I haven't personally) female magicians. I did get magic sets when I was a kid, which I loved, and bored my parents-and anyone who'd sit still for five minutes-with. I even made movies of my tricks, complete with Mystic Meg Voice...don't ask.

Anyway, I'm not entirely sure WHY it is that men are more sucessful with Magic. Maybe it's just that it's viewed as a male hobby. I find it takes me quite a long time to get the hang of tricks, especially if they involve cards. But then I think that's a personal thing, I'm not very co-ordinated with my hands. Though I am trying VERY hard learning forces.

I am female. I am yet to have met another female either. lol

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.

Well - look at that! Another of those blasted female magicians! We turn up when you least expect it!

I notice Fay Presto, Laura London, Mandy Muden got mentioned on here - but not me! :)

So here I am - to prove we do exist and we can chat away on forums as well as the next guy.... so what now?

Well, this thread seems to be doing something to redress the balance as there are currently 7 female contributers. Are there more of you lurking out there and just watching?

if you count the fact that everyone thought Kati was a girl when he joined that makes 8......
