I'm still too young and inexperienced at life to have had encounters like yours.

That said, when I was smaller, a whole day playing video games left my mind a bit odd- before falling asleep, random objects in my room seemed to be animated and their movements resembled the video game characters... (the game was the first Ratchet and Clank. good times, good times)

Craig, what type of thing were you trying to replicate? Reading about David Abbott, I'm very impressed by his ability to find solutions to devious mysteries through anecdotal descriptions. The Bangs Sister's portrait mystery is one that is fascinating to me. He took ( I think) over a decade to crack the mystery, but he eventually did.

Perhaps in a few years, you'll come up with a way to do it. Then you'll get your idea stolen...

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking

The Original Ratchet game was and still is my favourite game of all time.

On a more thread related note, curiosity got the better of me and I bought the most basic book on Tarot I could find in Waterstones.

Enjoy! Hope you get at least some enjoyment out of it. Don't be afraid to start doing readings for friends - even if you have to keep looking in your book to see what the cards mean! If you ever need any pointers just drop me a PM.

good luck with it Wild Card, now you wait until you mention it to anyof your friends. You'll have everyone wanting you to do a reading for them. :D

It's quite intoxicating isn't it? BUT.. be very careful. With great power comes great responsibility as I never cease to say in these matters. Don't go upsetting anybody. But you're a smart kid, you'll do good! :D

Im reminded of the cheesy scene in the James Bond film, I think it was Live and Let Die where he gets a one way forcing deck of the "Lovers" card and uses it to pull that rather good looking reader!

He coulda skimped back with a cross-cut force

Funny. I volunteer at a charity shop and today I was sorting through the donated books. And there it was, a book simply called Tarot: An illustrated guide to the mysteries of the Tarot.

I'll definitely give it a read, although I'm not sure how you can write an illustrated guide to mysteries, since as soon as you did they would no longer be mysteries, but I'll give it a read.

The best book is Tarotmania by Jan Woudhuysen. It is out of print but available online for free somewhere.

Mysterious powers at work.
Did you find the book, or did it find YOU, I wonder?

Considering I am a sentient being with the power of sight and thought and it is a book, my money would be on me finding it. If the book was working in a charity shop and I was in one of the donation boxes then it would be a different matter.

How did you pay for the book? Did you swap it for your sense of humour?

Sadly Darrel you're wasting your breath, this is a child that has a strong preconceived set of notions... based on her response, I doubt that she even understand what ancient truth you are inferring i.e. the teacher/lesson is revealed when the student is ready (or the time is ripe).

As was pointed out by someone else a few pages back, our little lady posted a very negative and obviously biased original "question" the flavor of which seems deliberately set for creating controversy, challenge and the opportunity for her to attempt to prove she is the superior being that knows all and sees little to nothing other than the shiny parts she likes.

I feel sorry for such entities, especially when they are so young and so casual about pawning off their soul. :?
