If magicians did not have an interest in methods then they would not be magicians.

why the public display of all our wonderfully grotesque and heaving egos though? why can't we just admire the man for being a great example of a mentalist? why do we have to try and pull it all apart?

have we forgotten how to keep secrets? why do we feel the need to show off?

why can't some of you just email your friends in private and discuss it if you really feel the need?

this kinda stuff makes me both very angry, and very sad...

Once again maths lets me down :(

I Like this one! I wont try and work the maths out but as he was only going for 5 numbers how many would that take this down to? I know it seem like alot of hard work but remeber "the system"

317,814 to 1 I believe.

I expect the method to be something similar to how the "prediction from a suspended box above the audience" is achieved but I do not know how that is done so cannot be sure if the same method can be applied.

Almost exactly the same process though.

Did anyone watch the E4 show at 9pm, it was brilliantly executed. I especially liked the woman he "could not read" before revealing at the very end as if by magic... Bracelet!

Come on old boy. One of England's best known magicians does something that gets the entire nation talking, of course we're going to discuss possible methods on here.

What's entertaining me is the ideas people are coming up with.

I can't wait for tomorrow night, i bet there'll be a lot of red faces.

Dale? You know more than you're letting on and it's annoying.

Im sitting in an office full of laymen as i type, and they are all theorising too.In fact Im the only one staying tight lipped, because im more likely to hit on a correct solution.

Why?

Magic by its very nature sparks debate. The truth is unless someone on the forum worked on the project no-one knows, no-one ever will know and we all just enjoy the riddle.

He is an excellent performer and mentalist but he is also a fantastic publicist. The only ego being massaged is Mr Brown's as I expect most of the country are currently debating "how he did it" but fortunately he seems like a nice fellow who will not let it go to his head.

The lottery event was designed to get people talking. It was supposed to make everyone talk and debate and theorise on how the blazes he did it. And with the 'promise' of an explanation on Friday night, that's just adding fuel to the fire.

I fully appreciate that we're normally not supposed to dissect other performer's work in this way, but this was not the normal type of show. It was a 'how did he do it' challenge.

Or was I watching something else?

I don't know why they don't just rename the Impact font Nyman and have done with it.

I've had e-mails and phone callls this morning from several people wanting to talk about it. They all have their own theories but even so, they're also having fun and will be glued to the TV on Friday night. Not litereally glued of course, thet'd just be silly...

I don't know. Mr Brown is also a stage hypnotist. With the right suggestion, he could glue them to whatever takes his fancy!

You're not on your own. I've adopted a very smug 'I know but I'm not saying' attitude once or twice this morning!

the difference is, we have some kind of/level of insider thinking and knowledge..there's loads of people searching for the secrets (when all they have to do is wait til friday) -online...i think we should have more pride, and not discuss a fellow mentalist's work in public...

we do have secret areas on here y'know...

the public are supposed to try and figure out how he did it - we are not...
