My initial thought was the balls were shot up the tube which the balls were sat on (much like the actual lottery machine) this would be covered by the false backs of the balls which were on show.
I imagine it's neither of these & that we'll never find out the actual method. But thought i'd post it all the same.

I'm really torn on the whole 'Computer Effects' thing to be honest. The general consensus of Internet chatter seems to have settled on this being the method, but even though I am a geek I'd find it a little hard to swallow if this is the big reveal tomorrow night.
I'd honestly be more pleased with an empty studio and the use of a giant mirror.
(A highly polished mirror of course).
