I think it is a credit to Brown and Nyman that their peers are not only discussing it but heatedly and with much disagreement. That must be a far bigger compliment than some layperson going wow.

Wow, although i couldnt possibly say what Andy or Derren would or would not be thinking ...

Not wanting to get into a rant, i hope someone else can see whats wrong with that statement...

I think I may have worded that wrongly. All I meant is that to be revered by people in the same field is one of the greatest compliments someone can receive for their ability.

It can be a very important aspect of someones career as there are many truly gifted and talented people that will never be remembered by the public but will be idolised by their colleagues and students.

Thank you... x

everyone just needs to remember that the public are reading these threads, and if i as "some layperson" read that, i wouldnt be investing my money in buying a ticket for that show ... their WOW's pay the professional entertainers bills ultimately .... Derren and Andy included !

But yes forums can be mis-interpretreted, hense the no rant :0)

Before we go too much further, does anyone think this thread would be better sited in the Restricted Area?

Excellent, I'm glad that's clarified things.

Actually a good example of this is Seige gushing over the Get Nyman DVD's in the review forum. It did make me chuckle reading that review.

I personally would prefer the tread to stay here as I don't have access to the restricted area but if the mods feel that too much is being given away, that it would be the right thing to do.

Personally I would prefer it to stay here for the same reason but the comment earlier about journalists reviewing the thread for possible info for articles I think is a bit much even if it is just conjecture.

Judging by the special blog they've just set up here, I suspect moving the thread might be redundant.

Money can't buy publicity like this - nice one!

It would appear that this thread can stay here quite safely  ...

I know I really shouldn't be reading the Daily Mail online (it rots your teeth and gives you brain damage), but this comment on the story had me in fits of giggles
ITS OBVIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE PREDICTED BALLS ARE NOT REAL BALLS!!!

THE ILLUSION IS THAT HE IS WRITING THEM ON A LINE OF CARD IN SUCH A WAY TO PRODUCE A 3 DIMENSIONAL EFFECT!!!

CAN YOU SEE HIS RIGHT HAND WHILST THE DRAW IS OCCURING!!? IS HE HIDING IT WITH HIS LEFT ARM??

HE WRITES THEM ON WHILST THEY ARE DRAWN AND SLIPS IT ON TO THE STAND!!!!!!!!
DOES HE WALK OVER TO THE STAND IN AN ODD WAY???

LOOK AT THE BALLS CLOSER!!!! THEY ARE NOT SPHERES. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
ARE THE DIGITS THE SAME?? DO THE BALLS BECOME LESS AND LESS STRAIGHT AS IT GOES ON??

NO MORE DAFT IDEAS!!!!
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PREDICT RANDOMLY DRAWN NUMBERS OR EVENTS THIS ACCURATELY.
DERREN DOES NOT USE CAMERA EFFECTS OR PROPS.
HE USES SLEIGHT OF HAND AND MIS DIRECTION - EXACTLY WHAT THIS THEORY IS ABOUT! HE HAS SPENT 1 YEAR PRACTICING THE ART OF DRAWING NUMBERS IN THIS STYLE ON A STRIP OF CARDBOARD IN A 3D EFFECT WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT!!!
TRUST ME - THIS IS HOW IT IS DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more "daft ideas"?

An awful lot of this thread ought to be reflected in the IB thread!

Indeed - you should all check the Yahoo thread where joe public are posting their "theories".......well, i say theories, but they're more like ridiculous ramblings.

There's eveything on there from Derren is the Devil, to laser beams burning the numbers onto the balls after the draw. Some guy even posted (with the uttermost authority in his tone) that the lottery is in fact controlled by the Mason's - who 'decide' who's worthy of winning that week, and must have agreed to let Derren know the numbers in advance! (best Dr. Evil voice on - "Riiiiiiiight!")

I weep for the state of this nation (or at least for it's level of intelligence). Bless em for their 2 cents worth though.

Personally I find theories more convincing if they are given the extra substantive weight of APPEARING IN CAPITAL LETTERS.

I just listened to Oh What's Occurring.

They went on to stupid street to ask how they think it was done.

Pure jokes.
