Whilst I am still in full control of my bladder, I can safely say that the arrival of the good Doctor is very much anticipated in Kastle Klang :-)

I think Matt Smith will bring a much needed air of eccentricity back to the role!

I have 2 gigs on Saturday so will miss the broadcast. My wife is under strict instructions to Sky+ it to watch on Sunday night. Failure on her part to comply will result in divorce and possible execution.

I have two recorders set and ready to do the biz..... it'll probably be repeated later in the week but that's only a backup plan...

Also don't forget the new Jonathan Creek on Sunday.

8pm Easter Sunday... :D

The Judas Tree - 4 April 2010

The new one-off special episode of Jonathan Creek, The Judas Tree, will air on BBC1 and BBCHD on Sunday 4 April 2010 at 20:00hrs.

BBC press release for The Judas Tree
When a young woman becomes seemingly possessed by the spirit of a Victorian sorceress, illusionist Jonathan Creek and intrepid investigator Joey Ross must fight to prove she is innocent of murder, as the supernatural detective drama returns for a one-off special.

In a lofty old timbered house on the outskirts of London, mystery surrounds the strange death of a former owner, Dr Thadeus Northcote, who, in 1889, fell victim to the supernatural powers of his Egyptian housekeeper and secret lover, the sensuously beautiful Selima Al Sharad. Spurned by her master, she is said to have sealed his fate by correctly predicting the exact time and day he would meet a dreadful, agonising death – apparently without any physical or rational explanation.

More than a hundred years later the house, Green Lanterns, has become home to celebrated crime writer Hugo Dore and his publisher wife, Harriet. But even he has been unable to unlock the riddle of Dr Northcote's death.

And when he rescues sweet young Emily Somerton from her menial job in a shoe shop to assist his ageing housekeeper Mrs Gantry, the malign presence of her Victorian predecessor once again appears to stalk the house...

Gradually, Emily becomes convinced she is losing her mind, as a series of mysterious developments suggest she is no longer in control of her own actions – and that an unearthly force is encouraging her to commit murder...

Perhaps a chance meeting with a likeable young man in a duffel coat will offer an avenue of hope?

After a friendly drink with Jonathan Creek at his London hotel the signs couldn't be more auspicious. But as the two of them look set for a romantic night together, things take an unexpected turn for the worse ... and Emily is once again left feeling alone, confused and threatened.

With events at Green Lanterns beginning to spiral out of control it is down to Joey to repair the relationship between Creek and Emily, and set the scene for a strange investigation that will take them, ultimately, to the site of the eerily isolated Judas Tree ... where the solution to the mystery proves more bizarre and shocking than either of them could have imagined.

I can't wait for Jonathon Creek either, so much so, I'm gonna go and start a new thread, so all will know. Can't have the likes of Klangy nearly missing it! :D

Brilliant!!! Matt Smith is a perfect Dr - eccentric, quirky, intelligent...

And the clips showcasing the upcoming series looked fantastic - anyone else catch the Dalek in WWI fatigues sporting a Union Jack insiginia...?

David Who?

I enjoyed it but how typical of Moffatt to defeat the enemy with a mobile phone!

what follows is a gentle rant about dr who...please dont cry if you weally weally wove him an' his ickle baby face and floppy-wopsy fringle...

bah...

there hasnt been a decent Doctor since Baker. Face up to it. Looking startled all the time was the Tennant's job, this one looks squinty and very Germanic.

And we all know what German Doctors have done in the past don't we kiddies...

Davidson (not Jim, though imagine if he were cast! Markdini would watch it) - weak, twee and apologetic and faaaaaaaaar too middle class...

the scots one afterwards - too nice for a scotsman, i wanted him bristling with energy and bravado...full of poetry and vigor...not a folk singer in a woolly hat...

the rest, post Baker, have all been rubbish. There's the truth. Get over it. Swallow it down with some water like the bitter pill it is. You know it, i know it. We all know it.

Rubbish.

At least Pertwee is both a descriptive term, and went on to be Worzel Gummage too (awful show and very sinister)...and Pert-wee had ruffs, and was the Jason King of the Doctors...

I liked old grumpy chops before that - black and white, small stocky guy, over looked and a quality actor...

no, i havent been drinking, but i genuinely hate the pantomime/pastiche of itself that Dr.Who has become...oooh the Nazis (again), ooooh the Unspeakable Horrors (again)...ooooh the...well, you get the picture.

Yet its popular. They've turned what was dark, intelligent and well acted into Boyzone for the telly.

I want the worshipping to stop. Right. Now.

Just like people can't admit the very first BlackAdder was the best.  :P  :? :D
