I liked it. Anybody catch the crack at the end?

Definitely leading up to something there...

And she is by far the best looking traveller in doctor who so far.....

I would stab Billie Piper in the face with a sonic screwdriver in order to get close enough to Karen Gillan to buy her a drink.

True! Better than Billie Piper, though she does come second

hehe...come second...

And with relation to Karen Gillan, I wouldn't buy her a drink....but I would let her buy me one! Multiple times!

She's just trying to get me drunk and take advantage now...

Have to say I'm a'liking this new Doctor and the story was great (thank the lord for the glories of modern technology that let me watch it in Canada)... Next week's episode looks ace too.

But... Whoever said original doctor wasn't creepy is deluded... What about the one in the lighthouse? And the Fu Manchu style episode with the giant rats? At the time these were really scary stuff (I was terrified by the creature who's face looked like a brain with an eyeball in the middle). It's just when we look at it now we're too jaded by the other stuff we've seen to appreciate the effect it had back then...

I just have to mention that the happy looking smilers reminded me a little of Mandrake... But don't tell him I said so or his face may swivel round and I may plummet into the depths of TM

Was Spaceship GB a homage to Terry Pratchett?

He needs a few hot dinners down him, too!

You saw that too? What about the Star Wars link? Help me Dr, You're my only hope.....

Thought it was getting too much at the end, how many times could they allude to "....all alone and wants to help...." The script writing has lost it's subtly in this series.

Karen Gillan running around in her nightie and dressing gown = homage to Arthur Dent?

a google tells me that the full poem goes..

A horse and a man above below,
One has a plan but both must go.
Mile after mile above beneath,
One has a smile and one has teeth.
Though the man above might say hello,
Expect no love from the Beast Below!

dont know who wrote it though.

That indicates to me that we haven't seen the last of the whale. Seems the destinies of the doctor and the whale are intertwined.
