the dove production i expect. Thats his speciality.

I have to say that i hated this one.ok, my judgement could be somewhat clouded by all the crud thats going on at the moment. I found much of this show distasteful. the guy didn't need help in the first place.. good relationship, job, roof over his head...

big deal.

i should be so unlucky!

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Was excellent. Better than the Events in my opinion. Touching, Entertaining and different to his other stuff. Look forward to the next one...

I hear the word "stooge" being shouted loudly across cyberspace. With or without justification?

Even the mediums are crying "set up" which is odd. They're usually harping on about Derren actually being psychic but not being willing to admit it.

Why would he need a stooge? I always feel these shows are a bit "dual reality". I'm sure we don't see even half of the picture.

Thought it interesting that he landed the plane on a flight simulator. I'm sure he wasn't having any genuine effect on the landing...

If the spectator doesn't engage in the effect,
then the only thing left is the method.

I'm confused as to which bits were live, was it just the links? That seems a bit pointless to me.

I have to admit that I gave up after 10 minutes. Maybe I missed some good bits but I simply didn't buy into it at all - from the moment the guy failed to react to the smoke coming from under the door. I'm sorry, but in my office if there's even a whiff of some weird smell everyone is commenting on it. And if you sit near me you can only imagine...

All you have to do is train as a croupier, get your Gaming Licence from the Gambling Commision and voila, you are banned from going into casinos except as an employee.

At least thats what my memory tells me, it was over ten years ago since I helped people hand over their money to Ladbrokes on the pretence that they might win just a little bit of it back.

Not so, at least not now. My friend recently became a croupier, got the license and everything. He wanted to see what it's like from the punter's side of the table. Of course, he can't gamble in the casino where he works, so we went down the road to a rival casino and he became a member there, even after being completely open about being a croupier somewhere else. A good chunk of his casino work colleagues are members there also.

There's no real advantage that being a croupier could give you anyway. it's the luck of the draw/spin.

He did tell me a story the other day. A punter got out a deck of cards and started doing tricks. He was advised to put them away and was reported to a manager. These places don't mess about, so I could see someone like Derren being banned from casinos. Why would they take a chance?

As for tonight's show: very poor. What was the point of saying it was live? What sort of insurance salesman goes to work dressed like a gansta rapper? Why was he thicker than mince?

Tis true, it happens

As for those who are complaining it was fake (I'm hearing it a lot on twitter already) - it could have been. But it doesn't matter. That wasn't the point of the show!

1. OBVIOUS STOOGE IS OBVIOUS

2. Worst fake trance ever

3. If people think this is stooged, which they seem too, then all of Derren's other work becomes nought.

I've just seen the bit with the train...

ARE THEY ACTUALLY ACCEPTING ANYONE TO BUY THIS?!?!?

Genuinely angry now. -.-

Why was he a stooge? Because he was slightly slow? Have you even read yahoo answers? As for the whole stooge thing, why would he, why would he need to, obvious DR going on, probably only saw 25% of what was truly going on, and the train thing wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, it was a convincer for the 'volunteer'

Why on Earth are you angry?? At no point did DB use his 'Magic, Misdirection and Showmanship' spiel so I saw no reason to expect a typical magic/mentalism show.

I enjoyed it - particularly the "Davenports' instructions are a bit hard to follow" quip :-)

And the end was nice too - "time to start some one else's journey, right now..." Didn't I read somewhere that there was another special being shown on Channel 4 in "A little over a month's time"? Can't remember where I read that - thought it was on this thread but might have been in a paper today. That might tie in nicely there...

Anyway, I don't agree that it didn't feel very Derren-y, I felt it missed some of Andy Nyman's input (who only got a 'special thanks' credit) but was nonetheless very enjoyable.

8,9,10,11,12 - very nice too :-)
