OK why it was billed as live I will never know!!!!!!!!!! but the whole show was obviously an ad for the next show. "Time to start someone elses journey right now" 8/9/10/11/12 Hmmmmm.......

That mean the next one starts at 11? Little late isn't it for a decent sized audience?

No, he is a stooge.

1. What idiot believes that situation.

2. Did he not notice that the run way was somewhat 2D? It's on a screen.

3. The microphone and camera angles are perfect. Particularly in the White van/party bit, you can hear every word he is saying in crystal clear sound. Tell me one other place this has ever happened?

4. Why the hell doesn't he even ask for help? Even if Derren had said beforehand "it's safe", I'd still be screaming to get me the fk off the track.

5. If the train thing WAS fake, how was it meant to stop in time? The stopping times on trains are massive.

6. His terrible, terrible acting.

7. His family are all out of work actors, look at them. Compare them to random real people being interviewed, there's a realism difference.

No idea, but he must be building to something. The whole jack in a box thing was out of place??

If Derren is doing his 'clever stuff' this will pay off in a months time when the next special airs, It seems the only reason for the live links was so he could say the whole 8/9/10/11/12 thing. Whether the guy was actor or not we arent seeing the full story.

Hmm, I thought the idea with the box was that it opened a little bit more as he got closer to the task, coming out of his 'shell' as it were. Was a bit odd though, as well as the obvious Donnie Darko references.

Oh I loved that bit! It was a nice touch, showing his progression

Eshly, maybe it was all fake. Maybe not. But its possible it's real; the train was going very slowl and trains have emergency breaks which are very powerful (trust me... If you've been on Manchester Metrolink on a bad day you'll know this)

But at the end of the day, does it really matter? It's a story that you're meant to take something away from. Obviously you were too busy finding reason to be angry to notice the message

You want to see why it was meant to be about Mentalism?

1. It had the nations most famous Mind Reader presenting it.

2. He uses the word "suggestion" dozens of times, in a Mentalism context.

3. The use of "hypnotism", by which I mean "bad acting".

I have honestly pulled off more convincing trances on other people, and I don't even know how to do hypnosis. -.-

Yeah - I'd have thought that too.. He should have noticed it was much less three-dimensional than the last time he landed a plane in a state of blind panic!

The Real Hustle seem to manage it quite well.....

Even if that is true, how can they be 'out of work actors'? They were just on Channel 4 with Derren Brown :-)

I think you're taking it too personally Tom..... I learnt that lesson for 'The Events' last year! My advice would be not to watch the follow up and just wait for Channel 4 to broadcast 'Enigma', that'll get you back on Derren's side ....

I never thought I'd ever laugh out loud at such a situation. Oh Derren you cheeky devil you :)

Yes! It does matter! Because it is destroying the credability of all Mentalists when the most famous of us uses a stooge which cannot fool my mother or my little brother (who is officially mentally retarded by the way).

I feel let down by my idol. Thats why I'm angry. I feel like I've turned up at a Bono concert and he's just sat on stage banging to saucepans together.

Anyone else think it was an episode idea for Trick or Treat they were holding back?

Tom, boredom doesn't count as a trance state :p, the show wasn't about Mind Reading, if it was, people would complain they've seen it all before, he's trying a new direction like he did when he started.. And unfortunately it hasn't worked so well.

Can I point out that I know for a fact that The Real Hussle DO stage stuff. How much I don't know, but they do.

And even they don't have bad stooges, I myself thought they were legit for ages.

the show wasn't about Mind Reading, if it was, people would complain they've seen it all before

Ohhh I see, well if thats the case, then I suppose all Mentalism is defunct. Ohh wait, its not. -.-

...and it wasn't bordom. I still have people who are worried what I did made them think. (spectator psychological card force + fake hypnosis = win)

There's a lesson there Tom.....! (and I don't mean the obvious fact that a U2 show would be vastly improved by Bono playing the saucepans!)
