Blackpool Magician's Convention February 2008

Postby Mandrake » Jul 10th, '07, 10:59

It's never too early to mention this so, courtesy of www.magicweek.co.uk :
Blackpool Magicians Convention began processing all the Priority and VIP Gold Card Registrations this week and tickets will be sent out in the next 7 days by Arthur Casson, the Registration Officer. Only 80 VIP Registrations are still available due to unprecedented demand. A list of artistes booked will be released in the next 14 days but we can confirm that Saturday night will feature a new fun competition: the United Kingdom v The Rest of the World! (replacing the British Magical Championships). If you register before 31st December, 2007 and purchase a Gold Card Registration you will receive a £25.00 book called "Down A Magical Memory Lane" by Derek Lever. This contains the hilarious experiences of Derek's career in Clubland plus some of the exciting magic which he has produced and performed over the last 50 years. We also hear that there will be at least seven World Champions appearing at the Convention, which is on 22nd, 23rd, 24th February, 2008. Download a Registration Form via: www.blackpoolmagic.com or contact Arthur Casson directly: 01253 393688 arthurcasson@aol.com. 7.7.07

Hands up all those who are going  !

Sell a kidney, or your granny, or just your granny's kidney to raise the cash - it's well worth it.

what a bummer!

Granny or not I'm gonna see if my my bank manager can afford me this and then need to pursuade the missis that it would be nice to have a weekend away in blackpool.
I then need to fake my own death on the friday in order to be free that whole weekend and then to be resurrected again on the monday.....it's never been done before but it's so crazy it might just work.

The list of performers better be good.

Oh! Oh! Me, Sir! Me! I'll be there!

Is there any merit to buying the super duper fantastic VIP pass or is it overkill, do you think?

With the VIP you get better seats and a better choice of lectures. I suspect you will be way too hung over though to see any lectures at all by the time Saturday or Sunday comes...

Granny's kidney sold. So I'm hoping to be possibly definitely going this year. (maybe)
What's the general cost of it all? I'm kind of new to this conventioning business.
