I found that cans of coke/diet coke work best.

At the mo I've still got a can of diet coke sat on the table in the other room with a 10p piece sat on top of it, so when the mood grabs me I can grab it and practice, to keep the moves fresh in my mind

If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

I have a couple of weeks off work starting on Monday and with an empty house to boot  (wife at work, kids at school - yipee).

One of my aims for the fortnight is to make some vids so watch this space.

I go this yesterday. Once you know it, it strikes you as so brilliantly simple. The simplest tricks are the best, as it is the most obvious that most people over look. And although this is simple, it is still not obvious. It looks, and sounds great when you perform it. After 1 and a half days of solid practising, I recorded the performance on my phone, but I can't post it as the sound and video quality doesnt do it justice.

Its one of my best tricks to date and although I have yet to perform to a spectator, I can imagine how it would blow them away.

I initially practised with a can of Carling, as we buy bottles of coke. However I bought a 6 pack of diet coke today, and it works just as great. However, be sure to ensure that you use cans from this country, and not imported cans. You'll know why. :D

EDIT: Has anyone else bruised their hand doing this trick? I've practiced it so many times, and I wack the coin agaisnt the bottom (unessecarily) hard, and now ive bruised my hand!!! Ah well, at least its a good effect :D

The coin in soda can is a amazing effect. HOWEVER, for those who are thinking about buying the DVD, the advertising of the effect used is a bit misleading. Do not believe it when they say the spectator can take the can HOME then open it themselves. Without giving anything thing away, nobody under any circumstance will take the can home before the magician opens it. Also taking that nearly half the DVD is an interview with criss angel, it MIGHT be better off spending the money on other hard hitting yet not so expensive effects. Nonetheless, i got the effect anyway

Actually - the advertising doesn't say that. It says the spectator can take the can home to get the coin OUT, not open it.

Really?....mmm...I remember reading about it somewhere. Oh well, if it doesnt read that anymore, my mistake. But the interview part is still correct though :)

There's no doubting that this is a hard hitting trick when performed well. I've spent the same amount of money before on other tricks that don't have the same impact as this one.

The interviews are a bonus thing and most DVD's these days include footage such as this. Personally, I haven't watched this part of the DVD and doubt that I will.

You should judge the cost of the DVD against the secret that you're buying.

I finally got teh DVD yesterday and spent about 4 hours practicing it. I've showed my dad who is always my test dummy, and he was blown away. This was really good news becasue my dad is fast and picks up on any slight errors or flashes, and he can work out the structure of the tricks pretty quickly... not this one. I also showed it to 2 of my mates about an hour ago, and they said nothing, and just stared. The thing that prompted me to post this was the phone call i got from my mate about 10 minutes ago now. He was just asking me what i had done, and if i had wokred up to this trick for a long time now. Naturally i said nothing, but there was no need anyway. The trick did all the talking - the way it should be. Practice before you perform it and what you get is awsome.

Also, the Midnfreak preview has inspired me and made me want to buy the series. The video looks awsome.

Cheers. Ben

This trick KILLS. When performed correctly, its so seemingly impossible, and yet the method is so simple. It truly is one of my strongest effects. I can't praise this enough.... its even torn me away form my xbox 360 !!!

10p coins work well in most cans. You will lose some of the effect by using a 5p. Diet Coke is a good one. Diet Pepsi not so good (avoid)
