Thanks for the votes on the TMUK poll - both of you I really mean it :)

I look forward to meeting some of you on the Manchu training and hopefully a few more of you in Blackpool in February.

Alright I have had the book for about two weeks and have skimmed through it and read about the encouragement, loops and chains, and then the eye to hand fixation. My main goal was just to have somebody in the hypnotic state.

Well my first subject was my grandmother and she just kept laughing for some reason which really pi**ed me off and I tried to act like it was no big deal.

So I read more and met a new friend of mine over another website and talked to him on Xbox Live. I decided to try and get him to be hypnotized and figured it would be impossible or beyond my skills at the time. I used every single set piece and when that was done I went for the eye to hand fixation telling him basically where to place his hand and after that telling him his hand was moving closer was easy because of the set pieces. Well what seemed like an hour later, but was only five minutes he was apparently under. I was very doubtful but he said he kind of felt dizzy and his breath was slow and he felt it. So that is my first success story, and after that I tried to make his pet turtle turn invisible and it worked but for some reason he blinked and something must have happened because he saw it right away. He said the spot he was looking at was exactly where he blinked and saw it reappear.

So no doubts in my mind about this book. I will be honest though, you will read this and think there is no way in hell this stuff can work, but keep practicing and reading it and once you try it out it will work if you make it work. Anyways the friend said he felt dizzy so I did an instant induction that is loosely based on Mr. Jaquin's and simply stated that the dizziness would fade and he would have a feeling like he was on a cloud and right away he said holy ****, what the ****, etc. etc. SOOO anyways get this book and let me tell you it works better with people who are paying attention and will listen to you. Friends and family suck as guinea pigs.

Also Mr. Jaquin I would like to talk to you about something that happened with one person, my email is coasttocoast33@yahoo.com. I will send you an email now and will wait for your response. Thanks a bunch

Having watched the dvd I feel very confident it all works.

If you're the sort of person that can visit people in their homes to sell them windows for example then you would have no problems exuded the fact you are "the hypnotist".

If you're not then it may take a tad longer to get your confidence up but so long as you really believe in yourself and look for those convincers I can't see it being too hard at all!!!

I've spent the past 3 hours slowly making my way through this whole thread!
I've read patterns volume 1 (a VERY interesting book by the way) but have never actually tried to induce hypnosis. The first few pages of the thread made this book look exactly like what I was looking for: a direct teaching system that would give me the confidence to try what I learn. But I was still pretty reluctant until I kept reading. What sold it for me was Mr. Jacquin's frequent comments and obvious interest in his customers. Anthony - I just wanted to complement you (as MANY others already have); it says a lot about your character to see such investment in helping others learn from your successes.
I'm on my way to order the book right now.
Thanks to everyone for the great reviews - I'm really excited to get this book now!!!

Hi Blacksoccer,

thanks for your interest. I love Patterns 1 and recommend it to anyone wanting to get their head around some of the brilliance of Erickson. The chapter on the experimental time he spent with Aldous Huxley is mind blowing.

You will find none of the language complexities outlined in Patterns 1 in my book. However you will find that if you have mastered them, knowing them gives you greater flexibility in your approach. My copy of Patterns 1 is very well thumbed and I go back to it often.

Stay in touch.

I received Reality is Plastic a couple of weeks ago, and have been studying and absorbing the information ever since.

I haven't had the chance (time) to implement any of the advice yet, but my initial impressions at least is that Anthony is upstanding chap, and his book is full of solid, decent advice without any of the nonsense often associated with hypnotism.

The pages brim with confidence and enthusiasm - you really get the feeling that Anthony wants you to succeed, and the methods and scripts are outlined in plain English, with the various subtleties pointed out.

The DVD is excellent, with even more information and angles on the work involved.

His mentalism-specific e-books receive the same amount of care, and involve some fantastic ideas on using hypnosis for pre-show work, and using mentalism effects with a suggestion theme as set-pieces to kick off the induction.

Then there are the effects, one combines dual-reality with hypnosis and a marketed gimmick, and another uses hypnosis to simulate mentalism in a wonderful cross-pollination of ideas from all over the tool kit.

I can imagine Anthony charging an awful lot more than £25 for this...

Several thumbs up.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

I think if I just had the book it would take me a while to dare do this, but with the dvd accompaniment it is just begging to be done as it really does seem easy if you have the confidence. My first attempt is going to be in front of close scrutiny at a Burlesque night in January where I am going dressed as the magician, though now, it's the magician and THE hypnotist.

I am going to delve in at the deep end and take three girls (we're all in the crowd, this will be done in the rest areas) and try to put all three but if not at least one of the three into a deep state!!

Nothing like baptising in fire!!!

It's 2009. I've had RiP for a while now, yet haven't mustered the courage to be able to put anyone under. This year I will. Dagnabbit!

Thanks for the kind words Dom. Much appreciated.

Jordan, I look forward to getting feedback on your baptism of fire. Make sure you are well rehearsed. Also be prepared because the first time you put someone under and realize they have gone, this strange sensation starting in your heels, like a rocket going off and moving up through the body to your brain often comes of something as a shock and leaves you wondering what you should do next. So have a plan.

Make sure you know how to move from a set piece on all three of them to a selection of your primary target and focus focus on them. Test your work, early on. Get an emotional change.

Anthony

P.S Nice resolution for 09 DK.

Thanks for the tip Anthony. I just hope all three of them don't have too much to drink before getting to the event!!! I am pretty sure all three of them will make good subjects but they can also be quite giddy once they've had a drink so fingers crossed. If all else fails I can just find someone sober!!

The three I have in mind have always known me as at the very least "being able to do magic" and I've told 2 of them I AM a hypnotist now too!! Not "I'm learning" just that I AM!!

Having read what you just wrote in the other thread DAT I'm very interested to see how RIP stacks up against the older texts.
